What have you done to your P5 today?

I will try to find some pictures of the puddle lamps, pretty sure I did take some pictures of them...I mounted mine on the bottoms of the mirrors...

It popped last night as I made a right turn onto my street....I was doing 10mph and hit no bumps but when I was in full turn....POP. My daughter was with me and said "that didn't sound good". Guess it's been unders stress for some time and I just didn't notice thanks to the clunking from the endlinks.

Just ordered a set of greasable Energy Suspension brackets/bushings from Autozone. I'll pick them up tonight and even after taxes they are cheaper than the Progress and I'll have them in hand today. After reading their policy I don't think Progress would have honored their warranty...I'm not the original buyer therefore I have no invoice.

Good thing you got the greasable ones, when I took off my sway bar there was no grease left and the metal was actually worn from rubbing on the bushing. Needless to say, I'm going to be extra generous with the lube when I install the new ones.

Also, it looks like I won't be able to install the sway bar on Friday because I'm going to the F1 practice :D

That is a pretty cool idea, if you pull it off be sure to post up pics and a write-up.

Drove her to Home Depot to pick up some filters and walking back I noticed something hanging in the rear. Turns out it is a hose...doesn't look cut but rather that it simply came undone. Jacked the car up when I got home and couldn't find anywhere for it to connect. Any ideas?

And if that weren't enough when we pulled out of the parking lot and onto the main road I heard a rather loud clunk from the rear followed by louder than normal clunking coming from the rear over bumps. Then when I made the right turn onto my street I heard a CLUNK and said WTF. Turns out the effin horseshoe bracket for the Progress bar snapped and was hanging and the bar was banging like crazy. :( Was going to take it off anyway as I found out last Friday that I need new heim joints for the AWR links. Turns out the bolts were tight enough but two of the heims (of course one on each side) are shot and were causing the clunking. Time to source a new bracket.

Looking up at the bracket and subframe

Where the bracket snapped on the stud connected to the subframe

^^^Thank you kind sir! When I get the car back up in the air I'll feel around for that hole. (rei)

I'm SUPER jelly. Have fun and take lots of pics. And don't forget your earplugs. heh-heh.

On topic, I've got tomorrow off of work to work on my P5 and the swap. Hopefully it will actually make a "zoom-zoom" sound. It's been over about a month on jackstands. I fail.

I hate that feeling ;)

So I somehow got a pinhole/crack in a hardline coming from my t-stat housing that bends around the drivers side. Been limping out of boost or it starts hissing to and from work until I got a salvage replacement from maz-max.

Screwed with trying to get the two bolts holding the lines to the block behind the turbo mani for like a freakin hour only to realize the mani and turbo need to come out to have room to swap the housing assembly. Thought I could squeeze it through without but not a chance :(

Told ya. lol =)

You will have to bend the brackets though. Youll see it when you pick them up.

Yes you did and yeah, I noticed that when I picked the up. They are as straight as the bill on a new cap. haha And the bushings compared to the Progress are ridiculous. Thought about putting them on tomorrow on my lunch break but my shoulder has been killing me today....I may just take it to a shop and pay them to swap them with the Progress brackets and remove the endlinks so I can get new heim joints ordered.

I'm confused?

I have had my cars on jackstands for waaay too long in the past.

Oh and drove mine...love the stereo + better AC, even though it feels like a van to me now.

Im sure this has been asked many times before and im apologizing in advance because I have not been able to find the answer on my own. I am spraying my tail lights with nite shades but I want to tape off the reverse light and maybe turn signal. How does everyone get that perfect circle taped? Ive never done taping like that. Pointers? How to's? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

you could take a large piece of packaging tape or some cheap adhesive tint(i have some if you want it) and find a can or something round that's the same size as the reverse/turn signals to trace on the tape. stick them on, spray on the nightshade, then remove the circles.

oh and i just realized you're in rsm! what color p5 do you drive?

the reverse light is kinda indented a little bit in the tail light, so you can just tape it up and then use a razor blade to cut out the circle, that would be how i do it lol

oh and not today, but yesterday i got this in the mail:

and this morning I ordered an AWR race pan, to repace my leaking stock one :) all parts that I need have been ordered, cant wait to get the car back on the road

Painted the rear strut tower bar, finished the new door card material.

Going to take off the side skirts soon, getting that and the DG lip prepped for paint.

Uninstalled and baked my headlights. Black housing YUM!
Continued the tedeious task of rust proofing where I can to slow the rot.
