What have you done to your P5 today?

Miles per tank is a bit subjective, we all have different definitions of what constitutes a "tank". For me a "tank" is about 45 liters (right about when the low gas light kicks on). I could easily get another 50-100KM but I don't like to chance it.

Miles per gallon is a much better metric; at least with mpg there's less ambiguity.

Very true. I usually got between 31 and 34 mpg.

Okay....now I'm even more confused than normal. lol Just swapped the 'bad' vhid ballast for a good techone which caused the lo-beam to flicker while hi-beams were still faintly lit. So I popped a silverstar in and now the lo-beam works fine but the hi-beams are still faintly lit and when I activate the hi-beams in either scenario I have no lights at all on the PS? WTF!

bad Deals, 2nd o2 sensor popped out on they way to work this morning. luckly I had the spark plug non fouler protecting the sensor as it whacked the ground as i pulled over.

I cant wait to have it all said and done on Sat.

Jeff, i'd visibly inspect all the wiring you can see and see if something has worn through the insulation and is shorting out somewhere

Yeah. Thin insulation on the wires could potentially cause the induced current that I was talking about.

Done and done.....wires I can see near the headlight assembly look good. I also swapped out the DS HID for a silverstar and same thing is happening. So I took it a step further and pulled the PS hi-beam out...this killed the hi-beams on with lo's as well as the PS lo-beam. Plugged it back in and then took out the PS lo-beam with the same effect. So, possibly the ground wire shorted somewhere or a fuse?

Grounds are fun for stuff like that. Definitely check them all.

so just picked up my calzone and was walking out to my car and saw someone backing their car up towards mine. noticed he wasnt cutting the wheel at all and said "he is so hitting my car" and he did. not much happened, got some paint chipping off the corner now. Got the guys name and number and will call him in the morning. didnt feel like calling police to come down just for that little tap. ive got a connection who will fix me up real cheap so ill just take his estimate and double it for this guy to pay.
its crazy, once i decided im paying off my car with my tax return, the wheel bearing goes and this happens.

^^^ Boo. But now I want a calzone... om-nom-nom.

Jeff, hope you can find the source of your VW problem, mate.

I looked at mine through a window longingly and sigh deeply... well that's what I've done for my car today lol.

i didnt want to call the police also because i was anxious to eat! haha.

also realized that the month i bought my car someone backed into it and destroyed the drivers side fender. and now the month im paying it off, this happens. since im getting it fixed on the cheap, im going to try and have the guy also paint the valence with good black paint rather than my spray job which is chipping off as seen in the pic.

dont buy ebay parts... my header now has stress cracks all overz. I already welded a massive crack shut and now this s*** happens? should I just weld the entire thing hahaha

disconnected the egr connector today...no more p0300...i just ordered the canadian egr for 70$...
