Did my passenger side rear bearing/hub today. When we pushed the old hub off, it came to pieces and greasy bearings rolled everywhere. I was worried, because it left part of the inner race stuck on the spindle. But we used a pulley puller and were able to work it off. Things with this car are never easy! Slid the new bearing/hub on, tightened everything back down and it is amazing how whisper quiet this thing is. In neutral I can barely hear anything. It's great.
And, for reference, I bought my bearing on ebay for $70-$80. When I pulled off the old, stock bearing, the part numbers and company matched exactly. The ebay ones are OEM.
Here are some pics of the now destroyed bearing and hub. Anyone know what that small collar is on the right (second pic)? It was pushed behind the race left on the spindle. I just figured it was some sort of dust collar that came with the last bearing. It's not shown in the service manual or the parts catalog, I didn't get a new one in the box and we destroyed it getting it off, so we just slid the hub on without one.
