What have you done to your P5 today?

what are peoples thoughts on tinted tail lights? im considering get lamin-x laminate for the jdm's to keep with the dark theme, but not entirely sure what they'll look like...

I always wanted to get red overlays for my USDM tails, JDM tails with a red overlay on the reverse/turn signals would be the best.

thinking of just tinting the reverse/turns on the rears and looking at places to park my car inside for once.... damn this credit score of mine

Out of boredom, and partially because I'm getting a new grille, I cleaned up the horn wiring. I wrapped everything exposed in wire loom and zip tied the normally exposed wire behind the center post.

For red cars, I think a 10-20% red paint and 80-90% clear would look slick... has anyone done this before?

I found out tonight when I powered on my lights that my driver's side headlight and fog light (both HID) will not light up at all.

Emailing XenonExpert as we speak.

Drove home from work with a semi-seized front brake caliper. Damn it, and it's payday too. There goes money for a new caliper... There's a tear in the piston boot seal. I saw a How-To on how to replace the piston seals but I would almost rather just buy a new caliper from Napa.

Has anyone rebuilt a front caliper before? How difficult was it?

IMO...it was kind of tough...lol...

Thanks, Scratch. I know you're a DIY kind of cat too so maybe I'll just buy a new caliper instead. Easier to replace and I'll have piece of mind knowing I didn't mess up any seals and have to re-do everything all over again. "Set it and forget it!" heh-heh

For some it may of been an easy job, but getting the piston out and back in along with the seals was a PITA...with the cost of the rebuild kit as well, it just wasn't really worth doing IMO...

less talky more shippy!

yeah id just replace the whole caliper. there down to like 40 bucks for a reman. i remember a few years ago when they were like 160 or something crazy to replace them. speaking of that i need to replace the ones i bought a few years ago used. the drivers side is sticking again.

Lol...if it weren't for work today, tomorrow they would of been out already...drive to Greyhound is the other way though...lol...Thursday they will be on their way which would put them there on Saturday...

Bought some ScratchX and NuFinish Polish. I've tried a bunch of stuff in the past so I figured I'd give those two a try. It should be a good time on Thursday while I'm outside waiting for the UPS man to deliver my coilovers :D

^^ Hmm that sucks. I have those too...I should keep an eye out. lol

As for the doors I finished one and got the a pillars also.

Found a beautiful crack in my headers... eh a decent weld and its all better. this is why I hate ebay hahaha

My OBX did the same thing when they first came out, if you get it welded I highly suggest you brace it. I used a tig and put 4 ss links of chain around the collector. (cut out every other link until you have 4 complete links.) I welded around the outside of the link then beaded in the center. That sucker is strong. Mine broke 3 times prior to this fix and has been good for years since. The one time my ac cooling fan got a little to hot and caught fire and dropped the rest down to the bottom of the car.

HKPRO5, I was wondering, it seems like you've got an interesting theme going with your P5. You've got the racing seat(s) and the harness bar, FD's for track days and it looks like a race car (which is badass) but you've also got the suede interior bits and such now. I'm thinking about getting rid of my leather and buying some racing seats and removing the rear seats. I'm not going to do a crazy strip or anything (did that to one of my Civics and it was WAY too loud in the cabin) but just finding the middle ground between race/daily drivability.
