What have you done to your P5 today?

the front doors have already 2-3 layers of raammat on the outside door layer, but they are still very flexible. the moldings do hold things from the other side.

Saturday, I washed and detailed my wife's 626 and finished detailing my P5.

Sunday, I started to change the headlamps (drivers side was out). Didn't have the internet so I could check the forums so I was kind of shooting blind, but figured I would give it a go. Dropped a screw into the headlight housing so... off came the front end. Never taken off the front bumper of any car, wasn't hard just took a little while to figure it out. Got it off changed the headlamps put it all back together. Zero extra parts!

Yeah, and that mysterious black washer that every one needs, yeah the idiots who changed the lamps before me didn't know that and had rigged some wire to hold the lamps in... (facepalm)

couldnt resist any longer! put on the painted wheels, look awesome!

Looks great, I need to do this but I really need to find an eraser wheel first. My fingers are still sore from last week when I took off my rear emblems. I have a dent on the driver's door, too right above the molding on that body line and it will be 10x more noticeable after I remove the side molding.

My P5 will get new NGK plugs today, and a new valve cover bolt. I snapped one a couple days ago when I was tightening them down, about 6 of the bolts were completely loose, probably why the vc was leaking a little oil.

what screw were you fiddling with while taking out a bulb? i dont remember needing to remove any screws to replace a bulb. good job on taking things apart and putting it back though.

and the dealership (when i was in warrenty still) forgot that black washer when they replaced my bulbs. they never re-aimed the lamp either so i was pointed way up.

Side molding removal FTW!!!

Indeed!

Looks great Zip, I loved the difference of my car when I removed the moldings.

Was kinda iffy on it yesterday, slept on it, I do like it better w/o them...

ive been thinking about removing my moldings... but i think they will cause more door vibrations. with my stereo, i want the door to vibrate as little as possible. anybody notice more vibration with removal of the moldings? they are such flimsy doors. i suppose i could put even more raammat on the inside.

I realized, after removing the moldings, just how flimsy the doors are, kinda scary. I haven't noticed any odd flexing noises, but I don't have much of a stereo either...

Man I tried removing my side moldings and realized my car had been re-cleared so it wouldn't work out. ******* carmax...

"Max worthy" LOL, bunch of marketing crap...

Both the drivers front and rear doors have been worked on on my car, the adhesive holding on the moldings was not the same as the fender or the passenger side. Grey vs black and it came off much easier. Paint matches perfectly though, so whatever work was done was done well...

Bought a 3M eraser wheel off of ebay, didn't come with the stick though to put into the drill. Luckily I did it at work and was able to rig up a bolt.

I could swear I bought one of those wheels (with the drill attachment) about 7-8 years ago for $15. This one cost me nearly $30 shipped, and that was the cheapest I could find. Still worth it though, worked great...

As the washers were not there and lamps were being held in by aluminum wiring I had to unscrew the wiring to get the lamps out... thanks for the props... I was down right proud of myself!

What black washer you guys talking about? lol Am i missing that on my headlamps?

As I didn't have it, I guess I'm not in a position to really tell you. I just remember reading the "How-To"'s and everyone was talking about how you need to but that back on to keep the lamp from moving...(doh)

it appears as though this is the most active topic, so i thought i'd get a quicker response in here. i was looking around a few days ago and saw a how-to on a window mod so there is always power to the windows, and now i can't find it again... can anybody hook me up with a link?

Modded my lights yesterday. Took forever to mask it off. I'm happy with the results. Yes the hi beams are yellow. Yellow stained glass paint and yellow luminics bulbs.

definitely looks awesome, not sure for the yellow painted headlights but i definitely love the black out with the upainted chrome rings around the edge :D
awesome job dude!

^thanks!

I thought the front end needed a little color. I was tired of the silver and blue look. It doesn't look as bright in person. The camera flash adds to the luster. LOL

It's really easy I did it on my car, just have to move one wire and one fuse.
