Since I bought this P5 I have had a wind howl between 35 and 60 MPH and it has driven me nuts. I was ready to sell the car. After new sunroof gasket and rear bearings, still had the howl. Tried taking off spoiler and taping all gaps in rear doors and hatchback, still had the damn howl. Well today swapped out the damn whip antenna for a shorty and no more howl. The noise was caused by the friggen stinking Whip antenna.
Needless to say I is a happy camper. So anyone with a similar howl try a
Mazda3 OEM shorty antenna.

Yea I just wouldn't trust shipping a carbon fiber hood out.I have two locals that wanna buy it but I told them I was gonna work on it this weekend.My brother says it looks great on the car maybe I should just have him drive the car so I can see what it looks like going down the road.

yeah i'd personally find a friend or a friend of a friend who can clear coat that for ya. for the $100 that you spent on it might as well keep it for the weight savings. and if anything paint match it to the car. pure jealousy you got the for $100 by the way
Nope as I said in my post I replaced both rear hubs made no difference. It was definitely that effin antenna. No More howl since I put on the shorty antenna.
