What have you done to your MSP today?

Are there any polyurethane sway bar bushings that are a direct replacement and/or do NOT require any modification? It's time to change my rears. My fronts are still good. Not sure how that happened. I think they've got about 12k on them now. I put three of the four end links on when I first got the car because one had been recently replaced. Then when I replaced the control arms and tie rods I warranty exchanged all the end links just to have a fresh suspension. Everything is still in good shape except for the rear sway bar bushings and I want to start tightening up the chassis some without going crazy and expensive. Any recommendations?

Honestly I would just get a CR3 relocation bracket and some Energy bushings. I did that and haven't had any problems in the 12,000 miles I've put on them. You could just get the Energy poly bushings and bend the bracket to fit too.

p0445 and p0171 doh. the wife has been noticing a new smell from the car as well lately. hmm

Msp for a mk4? Ugh. I can kind of understand a gti but tdi? Good luck.
I ran a European shop for 6 years and I'd take a TDI in a second. 45-52mpg is what my customers were reporting out of theirs.

This one isn't stock either. It's got aftermarket turbo, intercooler, cams, injectors, EGR delete, stage 2 clutch, 2.5" straight pipe, and a tuner. The kit is one from Kerma Diesel that is garanteed to produce 150hp to the wheels (and cost around $3500). It was dynoed at around 180-185. It's basically quicker than my MSP. lol. I have been having a lot of problems with the MSP lately and I'm just sick of sticking money in it. I'm in college, ain't nobody got time for that. Plus this is a one owner vehicle, and he took it to a shop to have everything done. Paperwork from all 12 years to prove it, even battery receipts (batteries were even taken into a shop to have replaced). I already love it, and have had less problems with it than my MSP and have only had it for 2 days. Also, it's only got 127,000 miles on it, so I will easily get another 100k out of it.

Seems like the car was well taken care of. Any future plans with appearance?

I want new wheels and coils. It's still on the factory struts and springs. Eventually get 20th GTI interior and body kit. But that's if/when money allows. It could really use some swaybars/anti-roll bars, because it definitely doesn't handle even remotely close to as good as the MSP. That's my only gripe.

I'm not about that slammed life.

Nice man. Even though I like the stanced look, I would prolly never invest the money to actually do it, unless I'm making GOOD money, otherwise maybe just a tad lower if that. Looking forward to seeing how it comes out though.

I got your text but it was during class and then I completely forgot to respond. That's a good looking pair!

Wheel bearing went on the MSP on the way down to DC this past weekend. Love how much higher the labor rate is down there and that I have a replacement wheel bearing sitting on my workbench at home. Either way it was fixed while I was down there. Also noticed the valve cover gasket is weeping oil, so ordered that and new accessory belts. The boost/vac leak appears to have gone away on its own? Is that possible? Only thing I can think of is it's warmer out now? CS OEM replacement intercooler hoses arrived so they will be going in this weekend and I'll get working on installing the boost and AFR gauges too.

The only other MSP I would buy is spicy orange or laser blue. Been driving #1574 the past few days and it's getting more pep in its step the more miles I put on it. It's definitely no where near as fast as my other car considering it is on the stock tune and stock boost level but I can feel the potential. Alternator turned out to be bad, found a junkyard alternator for $26 that is reman and was clean so it is relatively new.

Car is running great aside from a P2006 code, replaced the solenoid 3 times so it must be something else.

No drivability complaints? When I was having that DTC, the final fix was removing the turbo and fixing the wastegate that was binding..... Just an FYI.

Maybe if you completely neglect it you'll only get an additional 100,000 out of it. I serviced a lot of these vehicles well into the upper 200's, a couple in the low 300's, but two stick out above the rest.

Max Moore's 2003 TDI Jetta- Last time I saw it, it was at 498K.
Sherry Valentine's 2001 TDI Jetta- Last time I saw it, it had 390k.

Cole, if you ever need technical assistance with anything on the car, don't hesitate to ask. They're great cars, other than intake manifold carbon build-up and MAF problems, though I've had little experience with modified TDI's.

Aside from the rich stock tune and presumably stock boost it runs pretty well. I read your posts and others about the wastegate flap and I hope that isn't the cause. It seems to boost relatively consistently but I don't have a gauge on the car currently.
