What have you done to your MSP today?

Kind of stumped now.

Replaced my radiator, thermostat, radiator hoses, and the wastegate actuator. I'm still overboosting to 18psi and hitting fuel cut and still getting the drop in RPM (close to stalling) when coming off of boost and coasting to a stop.

Any thoughts?

I didn't know you still had the car... lol

I'm new to this discussion but I looked back a couple pages and read some of what's going on. Do you have your BOV recirculating back between your filter and MAF or the MAF and the turbo? What wastegate do you have on it? How did you set the wastegate preload? I work at a turbo repair shop so i hope I can help.

Yep, it's stuffed in the garage with no tag on it. Nothing wrong with it other than she was rode hard and put up wet and a needs a new battery to start. I've been going back and forth on getting rid of it. I haven't even started it in about 6 months other than to move it around the garage.

BTW I'm digging the mod list you have going on. Mine would say something like 4 transmissions, 5 or 6 axles, 2 diffs, 3 sets of 3rd gear for all the broken crap. No idea how in the hell I haven't blown the motor 3 times over yet.

Edit: Now that I have the car taken off the road, I should have time to rebuild it properly in say a year from now when I finish paying off a few things but then again I also got a new toy so we will have to see.

Scored an FS-ZE intake manifold thanks to my buddy Abel. Had to give him a hand with a couple connectors from his motor swap that were connected wrong and re-gap his plugs but his car is running better now.

Only problem is he tossed the ZE fuel rail, anyone happen to have one for sale?? I plan to scour the junkyard in hopes that an older fuel rail from a different FS based car may clear the resonance chamber

Also put new brakes on the front of #1574, the pads were almost to the backing plate. Rears are not far behind, need to do them next.

Removed the AWR and welded it up. It was split perfectly down the seam. Only reason it didn't leak as bad as it should have was because of the ceramic coating. Had that not been on there, it'd have poured oil out. The turbo inlet gasket had a small leak, and fortunately, getting to the transmission side oil pan bolts requires the removal of the downpipe, so I was already half way there. Also rerouted some of the harness and secured a few things to make the engine bay more "clean". After that I battled with the couplers/charge pipe blowing off on the hot side all night Saturday and all day Sunday. Finally got it taken care of by flaring the end of the pipe with vice grips. I had lowered my boost down to 14psi and it held last night and this morning no problems, so it should be fixed. Pep Boys carries Vibrant parts if anyone ever needs something in a hurry and you've got one locally. I've got an okay tune on the car now, too. Keeping the AFR's around 11.3-11.5, but I'd really like to nail them down to the 12-12.5 range to get some good power. Still haven't changed the timing tables, though.

All the power is in timing ;) but careful, or you will be an elite member of zoom zoom boom
Which is why I haven't touched it. I have to familiarize myself with adjusting it before I actually do it. Got some reading on basic tuning to do, I suppose.

finally got around to driving the car this weekend...felt good with the newly installed hks bov. also removed all the black plastidip from the wheels

so I was thinking of upgrading my boost gauge to the multi function AEM tru boost unit. anyone here running this ? I really wanna just get it to increase boost like 1 psi plus I like the idea of being able to adjust wastegate spring setting to allow the turbo to spool quicker

I also noticed that I'm getting this weird pop feel in the shifter(like when I accelerate sometimes) the shifter pops like it moves, but nothing is effect... bad bushings or something? any ideas

Just installed AEM cai. I like the sound it makes when accelerating lol, but it seems like the coupler isnt long enough to fit completely on the turbo. Is this common with the AEM cai?

I have one that I'm considering selling. It came on the car and has some really nice features, but I'm planning to go unichip Q+ and running boost control through it so the truboost would be redundant. If you want it I'll sell for $250 shipped (it was installed in August by the PO).

Of course once I fixed one coupler from separating, another starts, so I ordered new t-bolt clamps. They'll be here today and I'll go ahead and flare the charge pipe, too.

I don't know if anyone on here is in central Florida but there's a big meet tonight by pepboys off Semoran Blvd. Supras, rx7s, speed3s, big hp cars. I'm going tonight, anyone and everyone is welcome.

Have you considered some of the different braces that are on the market? I know vibrant sells one, but I have no idea how many you would need or what it would end up costing. Or better yet mark all your pipes and weld them up.
