What have you done to your MSP today?

Without seeing it, I'm placing my bets on a pump.
 
Just wondering because I replaced it 2 days with a friends extra pump and yesterday while at the autoX on my 2nd run it started acting up again then on the 4th run it started pissing all over the place and cutting in and out. I guess the pump was really old (200K+ miles onit), might have got some crap fluid in it from the change over, and couldn't handle the high rpms of autoX. Looks like I'll be getting a new pump and figuring how to get all the old fluid out.
 
(nana) Stereo stuff is arriving today and tommorrow

Also, it's time for new tires. Thinking of doing Hankook V12s in the same size I ran previously 215/45/17...

Unfortunately I can't really tell you what the best way to get all the fluid out short of disconnecting the lines from the rack... Even then you won't get it all out. I have access to a power steering flush machine in my shop, which, in all likelihood, you do not.
 
Looks like I'm going to have to take it in. Shouldn't cost too much I hope. It'll be only the 2nd time I've taken it to a shop besides alighments.

Have you ran those tires before? I've sold a couple of sets per request, but I feel like there are much better tires for the price. Just curious.
 
NO! I'm fairly certain I explained this to you, like, four days ago... It's a catalyst "death code"...

If you still have converters, you'll need a converter.
If you do not, then you'll need an O2 emulator. I just installed one in an MPV for someone and it corrected the issue. Go to a parts store and tell them you need Dorman part number 42009. You will have two pieces in the package. Drill the end of one of them out completely. Thread that one into the other one. Install in O2 bung. Install O2 sensor into the "emulator" (non-fouler). Clear current and stored DTC's. Road test vehicle. Voila.
I put a non-fouler on yesterday, it wouldn't fit on the SLS mid pipe, had to move the O2 sensor onto the J-pipe , I've gone 50 miles so fare with no CEL . Good to get a sticker today for it, I hope . I'm just not sure what that little screw is for that wasn't screwed on when I took the little cap off... If that controles the fuel pressure and was making the car run to rich and nifty have killed my cat ... Any thoughts in that ?
 
Ran them on my S2000....What do you suggest?
Nitto Neo Gens or BF Goodrich g-Force Sport Comp-2s. They're both really awesome tires for the price and are about the same price as the Hankook V12 evos
 
Have the NeoGens on the car now....didnt really like them. The V12s gave me tons of grip on the S2000 so I think they'll do well on the MSP
 
And I personally run Falken ZE912s on my MSP. Other than those, I've liked General Exclaim UHPs on my P5 and MSP, but I ate those tires up quick. I think the UTQG is the same as the formentioned, though. I only have the ZE912s because they didn't have a full set of the Exclaims at any of the local warehouses when I needed a new set and I got a really good price on them, but have been very happy with them. I also ran Capital UHPs on the car and was happy with them until my first Dragon trip and I couldn't hang with an E46 due to lack of traction. For everyday driving, they're great, but handling/traction is horrible for spirited driving.

I've never actually ran Nittos and plan on that being my next set. What don't you like about them? I may not get them now...

Grip was never very inspiring, especially in the wet...They were ok but would not run them again.

Just found my new donor motor to start the forged build! Woot. Might pick it up this week. If so, I might start the build a lot sooner than I had planned.

go back to stock boost before that motor ends up being another replacement instead of a build
 
Stumbled into a parking lot after almost stalling and not building boost.... checked all intercooler tubes: STILL TOGETHER :'( Idk what the issue is...

I'm back down to 10psi and I feel safe at that. I also retuned the car before the LSD went and my AFRs suck now. I'm 10.2-10.5 and hit 11.2 in a small window at high RPMs.

did you put the emulator on it when you moved it to the j-pipe?
