What have you done to your MSP today?

Plan to rotate my tires today. Also plan on pulling my 03.5 lip off and start taking all the double sides tape off in prep for the jdp lip lip going on tomorrow ;)

if its factory mounting, its not tape, its some type of glue... and I wouldn't recommend you try to remove it... HUGE pain in the ass.

the front usually isn't held on by the epoxy stuff, the rear lip, at least for the 03 is, I didn't really check my brother's 03.5 lip, but I would think it is also, that stuff is a HUGE PITA, that stuff won't come off, I've tried a bunch of different stuff, even a razor with a few hair dryers on it didn't do crap to it, would of had to saw-zaw it off, which would ruin it, but this was just for when I was parting out my old msp, so I still have the lip and bumper together, not gonna separate it lol, stuffs never coming off

What auction was it on? I didnt even bother looking cause it would have been so far away from the sales that we get our wrecks from.

Here is what came in today for my mazda. Im not gonna lie this thing is built way better than I thought.

just make sure u blue locktite it and torque it down to 70ftlbs or you will have a hole in your casing like i did LOL

Yeah I am gonna put green locktite on them I belive. I think its green, I want the s*** that is never gonna come off.

Also my ring gear came in today so tomorrow im gonna get it back together. Can you all tell me what type of fluid we use from the factory?

Yea I did a tranny flush early this year with Royal Purple, but honestly I didn't notice any difference since I had the clutch replaced and basic fluid put back in. So IMO I don't think it's really worth splurging for high test s***.

In other news, I spent several hours after work today ******* around with my hot pipe trying to make it fit better. Seems that the turbo I bought from another member on here (which is a stock unit) is different than the one that was on before. I wouldn't doubt that considering most parts I've removed were obviously replaced before I bought the car. So long story short, my intercooler piping doesn't fit well and I am probably better off getting some new pipes custom made.

I got an adhesive remover wheel (chucks into a drill) from a local body supply shop. Only thing about that is you have to be SUPER carefuly not to burn the paint. I was swapping a new lip on anyway so I didn't really care. I basically cut the majority of it off with a pocket knife, and wheeled the rest off.

^^hmm, didn't know that, I will have to keep that in mind if I end up taking of off eventually..

anyways, my brother did his first oil change today on his msp, I hate when other people do it, and they usually never understand that your suppose to hand tighten the filter, I ended up putting a few holes into the filter with the oil filter clamps as I was trying to get it off, so it wasn't fun doing that while oil was dripping all over me..

and he is still leaking coolant pretty good, I tested his system and it very very very slightly looses pressure at around 2min of the pressure tester being on the coolant cap, it says if it looses pressure before 2min it has a leak, and it is a super tiny leak, but there really isn't anywhere I can see it coming from, he had torn his water pump belt like crazy a few weeks ago, so is it possible for the water pump to be destroyed? the car doesn't over heat as long as there is coolant replacing the coolant that is coming out.. and there is no visible leak, and no coolant in the coil, but when the car is being driven, the car leaks uses a good amount of coolant (like he has to refill the coolant overflow reservoir after every couple days of light driving.. so like a total of 3 or so hours of driving and the coolant reservoir tank is gone (only filling it up to the "full" mark)..

any ideas... I really don't want to have to bring this to a shop yet, just had to drop my mom's minivan that had a bad waterpump and was leaking coolant, but that I could see leaking clearly..anyone?

Bought a new Rad Cap. Apparently ive had the wrong one on my CS Radiator for 3 years. It was always a really slow leak but once the cap went bad i realized the problem.

Typically when the water pump goes itll overheat no matter what cause it wont be circulating coolant. Even if the system is full its still vital its circulated or it will heatsoak. You wouldnt be able to drive the car if it was blown. Now if its on its way out itll still drive but youll see overheating and most times a little puddle of coolant on the side of the engine cause the gasket is gone. If the resevoir is empty and you dont have puddles of coolant under the car and cant see signs from hoses being broke/leaking, then that means the reserve tank is being pressurized.

either the cap isnt keeping the coolant in the radiator (usually the rubber is tore up or the spring isnt holding tension), or the headgasket is goin (when an HG leaks exhaust gasses get into coolant, youll see bubbles if u warm the car up with the cap off).

I would check for leaks on all hoses first, then check the caps seal for any tears rips etc. It sounds like the cap to me(if you cant find a hose leak).

They must have changed it on 03.5 cause my exhaust side of the lip is just sagging like it was thuggin. Its like that 3m tape on mine front and rear. I bought the car new, I took the front off with goo gone and a sore thumb.
