What have you done to your MSP today?

Not bashing on the MSP, its a great car, ive just grown out of it, id rather have a low RWD luxirious ride then have my head slammed back into my seat from the torque. Which makes sense because the RX8 has a ridiculously smooooooth power band

+1 lol. Im 29 too. Wife doesnt like the stiff msp but she has a mx3 with all the nice options on touring tires.
Next car for me will ve a nice midsize. Ms6,older m5 or g8.

I was going for the same selling points in moving on from the MSP... the RX8 just didn't make sense. I got a car with twice the power, arguably better build quality, better mileage, and is infinitely more reliable

i honestly used to, my original build plans consisted of coilovers on full stiffness and the gt28rs at 20-22 psi with split sec ftc and street legal slicks. but once i took a ride in my buddies G35 my opinions changed. Its so much smoother and relaxed, i like acceleration dont get me wrong, but id much rather have a smooth ride to relax in. plus ive always LOVED the way the rx8 looks, and the two toned leather interior is amazing. =]
 
The new 5.0 Mustangs have REALLY caught my eye, but until I can afford that or a Terminator Cobra it's MSP all the way.
 
Once I graduate college, I plan on hopping into a car that is a little more low key. The Altima SE-R has always caught my eye, but in a few years I'm sure there will be something newer.
 
yea, the msp isnt really a "grown up car" but oh well. my grown up car will be an e46 m3 in the comming years hopefully. or a legacy spec b
 
I don't think the MSP is boy racer per se, but my gauges on the a-pillar kind of make it seem that way lol. In retrospect, I wish I would have got the instrument cluster pod.
 
lol I love my car, I've had a crown vic that was a beast and I tore that thing up as my first car, passat v6 all "luxuried" out with leather seats, moon roof and all the good stuff (loved that car, had a little cylinder oil leak but was great, too bad I tried to slightly drift it once, haha, should have done it in a parking lot instead of an off-ramp), and I have a 97' dodge stratus now as my winter beater, and actually one of the metal brake lines rusted through on that so I'm not using that at all now, and my first spicy msp all stock which is when I starting reading a lot about cars and modding stuff, before that I didn't touch the car except for sound systems and stuff.. and now im on my 2nd msp at 23 years old, I love the light/racer feeling the msp has, although I have decided to lighten up on the coilover's stiffness (the Teins are on the stiffest setting with 35 sidewall wheels makes for a bumpy ride, but I only plan on making it very very slightly less still, just so it doesn't feel like I'm blowing my tires out if I happen to hit a pothole by accident), and I can't wait to build the engine and get the larger turbo, but all this is with my own money, I pay for my own insurance and plently of other stuff, so until I get a "real job" I'm happy for now..

best part about the msp is that it's rare, which is why I love the spicy all the more, some of the other colors blend in pretty well with other cars, especially if you take the wing off, but I plan on keeping it for as long as I can, but will eventually be looking for a new DD so I can save the msp some miles and keep it clean, and hell, it gets 30mpg on the highway and I can't get it lower than 23mpg when I'm tuning the car and dumping fuel like a bastard, but I personally think it's just a nice/unique/fun car to have, for some reason a lot of people have a ton of problems with the msp, I really haven't seen any large problems yet, but then again I haven't broken 70k miles on it, as long as you keep it well maintained and do things right, unlike the guy that built my brother's msp before we bought it, which I have spent the last year fixing little problems, and have everything all worked out except for a damn belt squeal that won't go away because I think it is ever so slightly out of line, but I see a TON of sti's and stuff, and ya, a lot of them with older guys in them.. anyways my point is that each person is looking for something different from their cars and I personally don't think I will grow out of high torque/horsepower cars (even though the msp is on the low end, it is my first car that I have messed with) and my next car might be a little nice platform, but right now I'm thinking of an evo maybe.. with my dream car to be a Lambo haha

but that's all, don't really know what my point was but I just felt the need to put my input in I guess

I have a forcefed radio surround 2 gauge pod that is in my car completely empty right now and waiting to be used by someone hint hint....

im in the same boat, i started with a little dinky 94 honda accord, drove that for 15k (~1.5 years) and saved up for my P5 about two years ago, drove that for ~1 year and saved up for my MSP. When i bought my P5 i had 2 jobs and worked ~30 hours a week. Worked at a hardware store and delivered chinese at night all at the age of 17, then worked over the summer as an IT intern (which i am back for my 3rd year summer job) and i make 12 bucks an hour with 40 hour weeks. i buy my own cars, pay my own insurance and gas as well. but when i work over the summer my main priority is saving for my next car. ive never owned a car longer then a year and a half, but i hope the rx8 lasts me longer then that.
 
wow, I've been working at a bounce house job, going on the 8th summer, before that I had a crappy job at Bobs stores and then installing irrigation for a summer which blew, which basically you deliver, set up, clean, and take away those moon bounce houses that kids play on, there are some pretty damn big ones, like a 28ft duel water slide, but I was their first employee and usually work between 40-70 hours a week @$15 an hour (70 only a few weeks out of the summer) and it is a rare market but there are some section in lower CT and NY that have more money than they know what to do with haha, but the last 2 years they have cut down on hours and hired more people (which is mainly because they are finally completely on the books, use to be half and half, and I guess they don't want to pay anyone overtime,) but anyways I use to make between 8-10k a summer, 10 being only 1 summer, but usually I make around 7-8k, working my ass off haha,

I put $10k into my car for my first msp, (had insurance money from my previous car to buy the msp) but ya, right now I'm starting to look for a real job and taking a break from actually putting a lot of money into the car, need to save up for an apartment hopefully when I move down to FL if I can find a job down there related to my degree (Biology), then it's back to putting some money into the car for the final build (or at least the most expensive built so far for me), can't wait to see what the car can do, then I will probably just save up for a DD and keep the msp for fun
