What have you done to your MSP today?

In the past month I have changed the oil, air filter, pcv valve, tires, valve cover gasket, both side view mirrors, and wheel studs. On the to do list: timing belt stuff, air fuel ratio gauge, custom gauge surround, ssafc, exhaust manifold replacement, entire suspension system (bushings and all screwed) and all four motor mounts. That's all I can remember. I'm pretty sure I'm missing something.

Today I got revved at by a neon when stopping at a red light. No, not an SRT-4. A plain. *******. base model. neon. I kinda stared at him for a second before turning my head away and laughing. He spun the tires a bit when he took off, but I think that round of applause goes to the wet roads.

Put on a set of rx-8 rim's today along with 3mm spacers in the back and 5mm spacers in the front its sitting pretty flush right now i just need some coilovers to make it lower. Also installed some polished gauge rings today looking to have some pictures tomorrow.

decided to park my car early. Im leaving for Iraq on the 24th of this month. Was going to wait until like the 22nd before I decided to park my car for a year. My car is due for a state inspection and now I need two new tires and instead of buying two new tires and paying for a state inspection just to leave for Iraq a couple of weeks later. I just decided to park my car early and worry about all of that when I get back. So, the MSP is now down for the next year and I'll be driving a gas guzzling Mitsubishi Endeavor until it's time for me to deploy. Ironically, the Mitsubishi belongs to my cousin who is currently in Afghanistan and will be returning in July to pick it up. I've been keeping it for him while he was deployed. In the meantime, depending on how I feel, I may start tearing the motor apart and prepping it for the rebuild when I get back. I'll still be on the forum though, even while Im gone just to keep up with what's going on.

Just my opinion, but I would leave it be until you get back. A lot could change by then, and you don't want to have to reassemble it just to sell the car.

^+1, i wouldnt take anything apart, could easily be lost or you could forget where what goes, I would just drain the gas out of it, or just put some of that Sta-bil stuff in the tank

Yup ive seen too many things happen to deployed cars. Hero her together and seal her up tight. Even put a car cover even if it's in the garage.

I understand what you are saying but Im not selling my car no matter what happens. My plans are pretty much set in stone also. I see what you are saying though. Im still thinking about it. I haven't made my final decision yet

As a helicopter mechanic, Im used to tagging parts whenever I take stuff apart and Im surprisingly good at remembering where things go, especially on this car. But, Im still thinking about it. I may end up leaving it alone. It all depends on how I feel, the Sta-bil is a great idea though. It did a good job during my last deployment. Car started right up without hesitation on the first start.

That's cool, I really don't want to get rid of my car anytime soon either. I browse around just to see what other cars are going for, but I always remember that I love the style of the MSP and the fact that it is pretty unique. What I would do, is leave your car alone so you can drive it as soon as you get back (I'm sure you'll be dying to) and buy a spare block to clean up and drop the new stuff in. Then all you gotta do is make the swap and you could have minimal downtime since it could probably be done in a weekend.

As far as what I did today, I drove it lol. Tomorrow I should have time to hook up my wideband to the FIC so I can tune that mutha. I had to drive my dad around to swap some cars and I let him listen to this rattling noise I hear when taking off. He is pretty confident that it's the motor mounts, and I'm sure he's right. I didn't find any cracks last year when putting in the front motor mount, but I can imagine that caused the others to **** up. Guess I'll be in the market for the remaining 3 mounts pretty soon. Really wanted to avoid that rear mount.

changed out my front left caliper today with the help of jonridinhi. old one's rubber seal/boot part around the piston had a hole in it. doh. and advanced auto is gay for listing two avail calipers for an msp........ sports suspension and another one listed as MPS2 suspension. get it right bitches! they keep giving me the wrong caliper

if your stock rear mount is fine you can leave it or just add inserts. The corksport inserts are 62 duro where as the AWR mount starts at 70. that might not make it as bad. I've also people with a stock rear mount and a dampner near the top of the engine. Just giving you some ideas.

Inserts would be nice, assuming the mount isn't fubar'd and falls apart in my hands

havent been on here in a while seeing as i dont have interwebz at my new house yet. but in the past month, i have picked up/installed some new parts.

my factory radiator quite literally "broke" in my hand. so now im running a stock pro5 radiator with a slim fan. has been like this since mid december, no issues

i have installed a adp i got from my boy alex. i have all new pads and rotors in the rear. im picked up scratchnsniffs old jdp lip. it came to me in 4 pieces cause of alex's meeting with a possum. it will be sanded down to cf and justanothermp5 will be fiber glassing it back together. then it will be sprayed gloss black.

in the mail i have a cp 3 point strut bar and ssafc v2 that i got for an awesome price from my boy scratch.i also have a kmr rear vbrace that will go in when i get new trailing arms and go for another alignment.

also i found out last weekend that one of my ksports is blown. i know what a surprise. :( it sucks that they are $110 a piece and i need 2 now

i should be getting interwebz this week so i will be on here posting pics of the new stuff as i get it
