What have you done to your MSP today?

You sure about that? I know you have similar but that .5" might be enough to be a pain in the ass.

the clearance on the strut tower should be easier with an 18 than a 16 (where the spindle bolts to the strut is where the issue is, and an 18" should get you past that), and at such close offsets, the tire dimensions will barely move.

mr "aggressive fitment" being cautious... wow. what has the world come to?!

The face of your wheel face would stick out exactly 9.35 mm further than mine are here:

both of my tires tuck inside the fenders when compressed, and the only rubbing I've had is with 5 people in the car and a trunk full of beer. I think a fender roll would give you everything you need.

But then you got the spring seat to clear once u get that high as well!

With the "no camber" comment and +44, he obviously isn't going for stance but just likes the wheel, so might as well put some helpful info up that applies to him getting the wheel on, right? :P

You got me exaactly. I would like a real flush fitment but not run any camber. I actually LOVE this wheel but I think its too wide for what Im wanting, I would rather have a 18 than a 17 but I could live with a 17 if they make one that would fit. Ill have to go look

That size can work, but I'm not so sure you'll be able to run a tire size as large as Carl but if u want it that bad, u can do it. No harm in going with a 225 or 215 if need be lol, it won't look stretched, trust me.

this setup would only be about 3mm closer to the strut than mine is (factoring in change in both width and offset), and the spring perch would only limit the height of the tire he was able to wrap around the 18. if I can fit a 16" with a 245/45, then I'd be pretty confident in a 225/35 clearing (and I'm not breaking out a calculator to look it up for diameter) without issues. the wheel diameter has nothing to do with spring perch clearance.

I absolutely agree. unless they make something like a 245/30, on an 18" wheel you'd be ending up with too much height.

I know it doesn't, it sounded like you were suggesting 245/45 to him to run on the 18, which is why I was like uhhh.. thats not gonna work, too tall. lol. 225/35 though, totally should work.

god no, of course profile would have to be adjusted for wheel diameter.

K, glad we're on the same page now. haha.

As you can see, comparing the 18" you want with carl's setup..

Almost identical fitment, can't get much closer than that which means that rim with 225/35 should work ez with a roll, like Carl originally said.

coincidentally, the 245/45/16 is also about as nearly dead-on in diameter to a 215/45/17 as can be achieved also, so speedometer and gearing won't be altered either.

Im just toying with the idea now. But that would be sweet if i could get these wheels and then put a 225/35/R18 on it and they fit. Do you all think I would need any kid of spacers?

I'll answer the spacer question after I take a peek behind my wheel to see what the clearnace looks like. Given that the 245 tires bulge away from the 8" wheel, I'd bet that there is 3mm of clearnance there and then some, so I'm going to say: no, pending confirmation.

dont think so, if u do they'll only have to be like 2 or 3mm lol

yeah, but 2-3mm more is going to be pushing the boundary of poke.

I care less about the look, and more about it contacting fenders. in the pic above (compared with mine in reality) he's already right on the edge. here... I'll cite this:

I'd say there is probably 9mm of clearance there, but I seriously doubt there is 12.

This is all hard to guess but his tire should have a slight angle as well that might save his ass. lol
