What have you done to your MSP today?

concerning just picking up exhaust bolts anywhere, you want to go w/at least a grade 8. Nuts and bolts all look the same, but far from it

just need to find studs in the same length in what i believe *should* be 10x1.25 (thats an educated guess maybe someone can correct me) best bet would be to go to lowes and in their hardware section they have a thread type wall you can double check there. If you cant get a stud in similar length with a good tensile strength then mcmastercarr.com is always a sure fire place for all you hardware needs

Turbo flange studs are the same thread as exhaust mani studs; M8 X 1.25. They're just a little shorter... 35 or 38mm long. Any import dealership should have a box full of them.

just finished driving the s*** out of it..lol. I never drive my car hard but tonight I had an urge to spool up the little snail some and man, I fell in love with the car all over again........until I hit the infamous brick wall towards the end of the night. Now, I really can't wait to see how the car runs with a built motor, Haltech Sprint 500 and a GT3071 under the hood. It's just a matter of time until the MSP goes into surgery.

Any clue where I could find a replacement stud if I need one? I'm not sure of the size and what not. I asked the dealer and they said they don't come separately.

just ask the dealer what sizes they are, then write it down and go to your nearest auto/hardware store...

A local MSPer just installed a gt28 turbo ( think thats the size he installed) on his MSP and he grabbed studs from advanced for his down pipe and head bolts. Here are a few links that have studs that match the size just difference lenghts.

Have you checked your antifreeze? Not for quantity; for quality / density.
Antifreeze doesn't just keep the coolant from freezing in the winter.. it also keeps it from boiling in the summer. I'd prolly flush the system and start over with fresh pre-mix.

ya i did a whole flush with a prestone super flush bottle, then refilled with prestone 50/50. :(

if u want a replacement stud all you need to do is buy some from advanced or autozone like stealth said
all the studs used from turbo to mani and turbo to DP are M8x1.25

Yeah... the studs you need are still the same size that they were 10 posts ago when I said the same thing. If it were me, I would copy the information (brand, part number, and pic) from the third link Stealth put up and take it to a local auto parts store. Dorman is a very common supplier, and their M8 X 1.25 stud that has a 10mm thread, 9mm shoulder, and 16mm opposite end thread (for an overall length of approx. 35mm) will work just fine.

LOL sorry dude I must have skipped your post. Not trying to ignore you :) since you are a laser blue fan you are cool in my book. So I also need a new ARP stud for my steedspeed manifold and I know they come in 38 and 45mm lengths but I can't remember which I have. I am thinking it was the 45mm. Anybody have a steedspeed that used these?

Also, I got my Forcefed valve cover installed today! Did it all by myself :D picture coming soon.

edit: here she is...

I would bet that the ARP studs in the pic are 45mm; and the new VC looks great! (Btw, the 38mm ARP studs would be fantastical for the turbo flange.)

yeah I got the steedspeed with arp studs, I believe mine are 45mm. put it in not to long ago but havent been able to get my bottom studs tightened all the way. how did it work out for you?

Also, finally broke down and got a yellow top optima today. my last battery isnt that old just couldnt take all the extra drainage i guess. kept waking up to a dead car

Did you find out whats draining your battery? Or do you have a system in your car?

im thinking (hoping) it was just the battery. Ive added several things over the winter when i wasnt driving the car. a much bigger amp, ebc, TT, a/f gauge./ boost gauge/ radar detect. so thats 6 new things i didnt have draining it before. I put in a volt gauge on thursday thinking that will help monitor whats goin on

you can always get ti checked for a draw on the battery and know instead of just crossing your fingers.

lets see.... Today I fliped my block over and my crank is dinged up badly. LOL!
and I drilled out bolts on the Wedge Seat backets that I got in that were broken off. Now I just need some seats haha.

But anyone else out there interested in Carbon Fiber Fenders for their protege's! COMEON! gotta be 1 more person somewhere! We just need 1 more for the GB to happen!
