What have you done to your MSP today?

haha, and ya, for my brothers msp and my old one, I just stuck a think piece of copper in there, (I use to have some sheets of thing copper around the house from back when my house was redone) but I just cut a small piece wrapped it around the terminal part and slide the actual wire connection part over it and tightened it up

got the msp back, feel like im learning to drive stick again lol. where i used to have to jam the clutch pedal down now i barely push and it goes, i used to have a delay in letting the clutch out and the car moving now it is instantaneous. amazing difference

wtf was wrong with your car?

I fixed all my vac leaks... God these cars are slow.. Lol

not if you crank the boost up to very unsafe levels! lol

OK, so they're still not fast, but I was surprised.

wtf was wrong with your car?

clutch was gone, i was told if i had driven it about 50 more miles or tried to do a hard shift i would have destroyed it and would have been stranded on the side of the road. My stock clutch made it to 70,000 miles so not too bad. got new clutch, new throw out bearing, synthetic trans fluid. car feels great, have to get used to my new responsive clutch

Sway bar bracket broke today. Drove it home and noticed that it tweeked my endlinks when it happened. Looks like the nuts on the rear cross member broke free and came undone a little causing the bracket to shift until the pressure of a bump in the road caused it to snap. Just going to have to buy the AWR rear kit now. Darn. Now I'm running without it and have to AutoX tomorrow. Should be fun.

So I have a question about my turbo. The s-pipe connects to the turbo with 5 studs correct? and am I to understand that the studs are already connected to the turbo or no? What if one would break off?

there are 5. and normally studs. sometimes people use bolts.. if one broke off i'd suspect you could get it tapped out.

new thermostat is in... after about 20 min of running around town, my resevoir tank is bubbling still like crazy(reason any1?), but at least coolant isnt being sprayed all over the place like it did before it was replaced...

Any clue where I could find a replacement stud if I need one? I'm not sure of the size and what not. I asked the dealer and they said they don't come separately.

lol ya usually they are, I had to keep ordering the same damn interior fasteners from them twice, those little things are expensive when you get like 20 of them! they were like 80c each! and they got them wrong both time, and I kept trying to tell them, but they just said, oh that is what is in the computer, it must be the right part, but anyways I finally just ordered a couple different fasteners (I am talking about the black ones that are everywhere in the car, and they break a lot, or at least use to when I first started pulling them out)..

but anyways um, since I assume that you don't have access to another turbo/stud I would suggest trying a place like Levine's auto or a good auto store, they should have books/comp. databases for all the part numbers

Mmk. I'll ask this new shop tomorrow when I give them a call. I would like to get a new gasket put in for the s-pipe>turbo but I was told atleast 1 stud is fubar.

I have all 5, never used. I got them bc it was recommended when i purchased my GHL, I never had to use them bc all my bolts were finger tight from the factory. Not to mention that I was missing 3 bolts on my exhaust manifold when i removed the heat shield

just need to find studs in the same length in what i believe *should* be 10x1.25 (thats an educated guess maybe someone can correct me) best bet would be to go to lowes and in their hardware section they have a thread type wall you can double check there. If you cant get a stud in similar length with a good tensile strength then mcmastercarr.com is always a sure fire place for all you hardware needs

Have you checked your antifreeze? Not for quantity; for quality / density.
Antifreeze doesn't just keep the coolant from freezing in the winter.. it also keeps it from boiling in the summer. I'd prolly flush the system and start over with fresh pre-mix.
