What have you done to your MSP today?

those batteries are supposed to have a long shelf life..but w/e.. i'll be going with a small odyssey dry cell battery rated at like 700 CCA and is about 6inchs tall, 7 inches long 3 inches wide.. or something of that nature.

I use Stinger SP1000 myself.

Back on topic; removed the MPI tuner and figured out that the previous owner crossed some wires during the install.

Attempted to pull rear strut for measurements. Couldn't get the lower bolt for the knuckle out and didn't persuade it too much for fear of damaging it. Will try again today after some helpful suggestions. Found out I will definitely need new brakes soon during the process.

I got the nut off of the bolt fine, it was getting the bolt out of the knuckle and strut that I had issues with. I even used a pry bar/ratchet combo and that didn't work either. I'm going to douse it in PBBlaster, pull out all upper strut mount bolts, and jack the knuckle up to relieve weight stress and see if I can get it out that way. Otherwise, it's staying on.

Ordered new lug nuts today, since I stripped one at the last auto-x event, spline drive and open ended for lightness. I need to put together a budget for items I need to buy after every winter: rear sway bushings, lug nuts ..... etc.

Is this the bolt that holds the knuckle to the strut or is it the bolt that holds the ball joint into the knuckle?

Ahh ok best bet since I assume the car is on jack stands is to use your jack to apply light pressure to the lower part of the knuckle, if that doesn't work thread the nut back on to protect the end of the bolt and tap it with a hammer to get it loose and moving. If that doesn't work your going to need a punch to get it out.

I know the rear struts are usually the harder ones to get out because there is little give in the strut mount and they usually flex outward.

does the bolt spin with a wrench on it? if it does, puttin the nut on the end and givin it a tap should take care of it. if not, blast it, then try to spin, then tap.

Nah, it's sitting up in the air on the jack ...

Just kidding. I will be doing what you suggested either tonight or tomorrow. Fully remove upper strut mount nuts, jack up the knuckle, try to get it out that way. I have some punches I can use on the end of the bolt to try and get it out. If I can't get it out by Sunday I'll be giving up until July.

Lol I have seen it before. My old roommate had his starion balanced in the air on 4 jacks...went into the garage a couple of times only to see some part of the car on the ground cause the jack let go
