What have you done to your MSP today?

the new ones are supposed to be great

but don't get it if you plan to use the iPod IPBus hookup...it takes FOREVER to scroll through your music...it gives you like 10 songs/artists at a time, and you have to wait like 5 seconds between each page of 10...enough to annoy the piss out of me lol

are you talking about the built in iPod control?

ive never had the kenwood unit i got the p5 radio unit when i got the msp. But ive been using my pioneer unit for 4 years now. Had it in my previous car and put it into the msp. I really like pioneer they make quality products. Eclipse is also good but a little too expensive for me.

323 - Clean ride bro. Whenever i was my car the next day the birds attack it. Im looking to pay someone to sit outside with a bee bee gun and take the fu*kers out.

yes the built in ipod control where you can control the ipod through the head unit

and yes processors have gotten faster, but it is STILL extremely slow scrolling through your ipod with the new units unfortunately =(

makes me sad too cause I really like the unit otherwise, but since I use my ipod religiously to listen to music and keep it organized (I have a massive library lol) it bugs the s*** out of me =(

another note is they don't control the iPhone, only the iPod....it will play whatever is playing and continue cycling through your playlist but you have to unplug the iPhone and change to a different song then plug it back in if you want to play something else lol...I -don't- know, however, if the new version supports the iPhone fully though

ive got the same problem with mine, all buttons are kaput so at night i go by feel cause they dont light up anymore. that is why i bout a new alpine headunit, waiting to get the aux cable then gonna install it

yea the stock unit just ******* sucks

mine felt like all the buttons were soldered in and you had to force a lot of weight on them to push them in...it would act really weird and sometimes not turn around...took me forever to figure out where you push it to make it turn around (either the upper left or upper right corner)...sounds like s***, has the most HORRIBLE menu setup (took me forever to figure out how to get to the audio control options)

just get a pioneer hu or something, I switched to my pioneer hu and I'll never go back to another kenwood unit again...never seen a single single-din kenwood hu I liked

as least you guys have a system. the guy who i bought my msp from had a crazy good system in in, but it all got stolen. when i got the car all that was there was a pioneer headunit and wires everywhere. for the first 2 months i had my car i couldnt listen to music(sad2), then i bought an amp and hooked it up to the wires that were there. there are sound system wires EVERYWHERE and i jhave no idea what to do with them. in fact just today i was cleaning my interior and i lifted up the rear seat and found about 6 thick system wires. damn(idhitit)

In all of those quotes.... yes. It ******* sucks. Took me asking the bro-ski how to get it to flip back around.

ProtegeRider: Speak for yourself. I lack the sub/amp combo so basically it's alotta highs and mids. You'd think working for a speaker manufacturer I'd have a kickin' system but I don't. However, I am about to go to my boss with a deal. We have a sub that uses two 8's (don't laugh cause it'd cream the s*** outta anything you could put against it) and it fits right between the wheel wells in the trunk area. It's designed for uses in churches and s*** but it's small enough! :D

(to view the cabinet I speak of, visit www.DanleySoundLabs.com and check out the TH28. Also, this is where I work, I'm the shipping supervisior)

Also, 323... nice to see another MSP with stock engine and missing engine cover. Glad to know I'm not the only one.

what do you guys think about the Pioneer AVIC series? i heard at one point they took about 30 seconds to fully boot up. that's kind of a turn off. i hope they improved it.

oh yea, my msp threw a CEL today. gonna get it read tomorrow.

I have the pioneer avic d3... i think its the best radio everrrrr

damnit neox i'm the same as you i love my ipod and the whole reason i wanna get another headunit is so i can have a large LCD screen with built in iPod control i think i might cry

im sitting here watching The Fast and The Furious on FX and I cant stop, its like looking at a car wreck, i just keep shaking my head :( I also realized this movie is exactly the same as point break but with cars and not surfboards

haha, that's what stopped me too...sigh, I need to go out and do some research about touchscreens that have faster ipod control

honestly, I wouldn't worry about it. make playlists and leave it at that... how often to you get an urge for a particular song in the car?

(OK, i know someone is gonna say they do....)

uhhhh
me lol

I'm constantly switching around song and artists and such...hardly ever do I pick one album and just play it =P

plus I'm constantly getting more music and my library is too large to make complete playlists...they'd be like hundreds of songs long lol

I have a few playlists over a couple hundred songs.. of various genres. I usually just pick one and skip songs in it I'm not in the mood for...

looks pretty sweet

yes you can use shuffle on the touch screen, but if you are specifically buying for the ipod I really urge you to at least try it out in person before you make a decision, it's a lot of money to throw into it only to find that it will disappoint you...my buddy regrets having bought his for that very reason

if you don't think it would bug you, go for it...but trust me, it's THAT annoying
