What have you done to your MSP today?

these are non-interference engines... so, its a good engine to learn on. they're really not THAT difficult to do, just time consuming... just gotta make sure all the pulleys are where they're supposed to be, and make sure the tensioner is set/ operating correctly (depending on if its hydraulic or mechanical, I haven't done this yet so I don't know)... If you have a shop do it, you'll get charged out the ass, and in all honesty, if you read a manual, understand what you're doing, take your time, and be careful, you can save a few hundred bucks.

amen to that. t-belt services can go anywhere from 350-600 give or take a few. luckily i work at a honda dealership so when the time comes i'll have mine done professionally for under 150 :D

....luckily i work at a honda dealership....
I don't know what to do with that statement...... it bothers me on many levels. I think one of them being the fact that I bought my MSP from a honda dealership, and the rear mount was SHREDDED, front mount was torn, the spare and lug wrench didn't fit... they peeled off some of the clear coat taking off the vinyl, one of the tires was size mismatched, and they didn't repair the minor paint damage on the rear bumper... yeah, thats it for me the Wilde Automotive Group.... ever.

i am a professional:)

haven't done too many dohc timing belts though. single overhead ftw..well..for tbelt service anyways.

I did the one on my isuzu impulse twice... first time was because I f'd up the tensioner... it popped off when I was about 45 mins from home, about 3 weeks after I did the service. Still can't figure out how. thank god that was a non-interference also... all the sudden the engine just DIED... stomped on the gas, NOTHING but intake howl. lol

rofl.. that's one place i would check, double check and check again before i let it be

thought it'd be fine after I fired it like 4 times and drove it around my house for like 20 mins... then all the sudden 3 weeks later it popped off the cam gears... luckily I left the cover off so I knew the problem instantly, but it was definitely a disappointing experience... as was the 1.5 mile hike the rest of the way to work.
