What have you done to your MSP today?

I hit 82... every time I roll one over I get a little more depressed about it.

Why in the world would you be depressed? I'm thrilled because my goal was to hit 100k miles without any mechanical issues whatsoever, and I did it!! Aside from a bad EGR valve, that is, but I think that's standard with the MSP and not really a problem.

Anything from here on out is gravy. The car is paid off and running like a champ.

nice! how's it runnin'?

Thanks! It's running great and I am soooo happy. If only Mazda would admit the EGR design is bad and replace them at no cost regardless of mileage. I am now experiencing my second failed EGR valve. It's partly my fault, I replaced my last unit with a used one that I neglected to clean & lube before installing. (hand)

my dream of no mechanical issues was blown by a differential... lol. I just don't like seeing limited production cars become "high mileage"....

I took my snow tires off and mounted up a set of mazda3 wheels with contiextremecontacts..... OH MY GOD. its like a new car. I know it all goes without saying but, all the squishyness of the 15" snows is gone, the car literally feels more stable under me, even just going strait, it tracks better, road feel is... CRAZY good... I'd forgotten what it felt like to have a solid platform under me. My GF even noticed how much better it felt, just backing out of the drive way.

I kinda felt that difference after driving my moms wagon over in vancouver this weekend.. i s*** you not, i fishtailed that car doing 30 going onto a highway on ramp...Im amazed i didnt die.

get back into my msp, had a little moment T_T.

changed the plugs this weekend and cleaned the maf. feels like a whole new car, more responsive =)
plugs were almostblack, and there was all this baked on crapdown in there. previous owner didnt take great care of this car =( the plugs *ngk* had thread lock on them and werent even hand tight. no wonder it ran like crap.

I don't consider it "high mileage." Consider it "Liked and driven!" My car hit 110k not long ago. Big f***ing deal. I mean, I guess I understand what you're saying but it's not like we're driving Reventon's. They are Mazdas. Limited Production... yes. Likely to be able to fetch a huge amount in 20 years... highly unlikely.

+1 no point in owning a car if your not going to enjoy it and drive it. If you want something nice to look at stick with diecast cars.

I bought my MSP a brother. 1987 Nissan Pulsar SE with the CA16DE engine, 122hp, T-tops, 132000 miles, etc. Needs a new paint job and a tune up. Then eventually it's getting a JDM CA18DET engine.

I also built a storage rack for my R-comps and summer tires:

Who the hell puts thread lock on something that is supposed to have anti-sieze on it?
