What have you done to your MSP today?

SS AFC was the best mod i ever bought for my MSP when i still had it, eliminated fuel cut!

EDIT: actually, best buy i ever did was the car it self, may it rest in peace :(

moment of silence for the msp, pour your 40'z out if you got one haha

wait a minute, i thought you sold it, not totalled it. didnt you sell to buy the benz cause of all the problems with the engine?

i loved that car even with all it's issues, because when it was fine to drive it was like there was nothing better on earth, it gave me a different feeling inside, different than any other car, i can't explain it but i'm sure you guys know what i mean

i had the same feeling with my mp3...hopefully i can get that feeling with the msp soon...once it's running again. damn, i miss my mp3.

yea I know exactally what you mean

last november is when I started my project, and since then I think I've racked up a total of about a month and a half worth of actual driving time due to problem after problem

but when it ran it put a smile on my face that no other car has been able to so far....you just feel really connected with the road compared with a lot of other cars

for example, my buddy has a speed3 that dynod at 288 whp / 305 wtq (if I recall right) and after I installed his downpipe we are guessing hes right around 300 whp.....but when he steps on the gas in it the feeling is just not the same as my msp which had around 250whp when it ran right

I don't know why lol

Anyone here rig up both of their fans to run at the same time? I plan on getting two new 12" SPALs and I'd rather have them both kick on instead of just the one (I think they will both kick on if the car gets hot enough though). I just want to know if people just split the wire or whatever. Also, would it be possible to still have the one connected to the stock wire so it would still come on with the A/C (or do both fans kick on with A/C automatically). I'm also worried if splicing both in the stock harness will split the current and result in less output from both fans (ie, only half power). Anyone have any experience with this?

I just had this done recently after my mechanic pointed it out. It makes a big difference....with both fans on, it takes about 20 seconds now whereas before it would take 3-4 minutes to bring temps to 200 degrees.

He jumped the wires right by the fuse box...saw him get the wire diagram, he located the wires..took him about 5 minutes.

So he just split the primary fan wire up by the fusebox? That seems fairly straightforward. Do the fans still kick on with the A/C or defroster? I also wished I paid more attention in Physics II back in school because then I'd be able to remember what happens to current when you split the circuit. SPAL rates their fans per amp (current) so I'm afraid that by splitting the circuit I'm reducing the amperage to the fans thus reducing their output. I just bought a bunch of fan stuff so I'll be doing this shortly.

Wired my fans just like the factory and i have only had once kick on in the past 2 weeks. They are both 12'' 1600 cfm a piece. It hardly ever comes on too and my car maintains its appropriate operating temp. I guess its just pays to have a very high cfm rate that way you dont have to worry about the fans not getting enough power.

Yes, whatever he did, it was right by the fuse box.

Yes both fans come on as usual for a/c and defroster.

Ya spals are heavy duty...so I understand your concerns. Can't help ya though. I was going the spal fan route until we rigged my stock fans...plenty of cooling power now.

my Spal fan is loud as all get out!
Yeah I used to have a 12" puller and a 9" pusher (MAM kit) but I got in an accident and messed up the 12". The new one is quieter but I don't think it's as good. I'm going to have two 12" pullers so that's probably going to make a lot of noise, LOL! Not to mention it's probably going to draw a lot of current. I hope my alternator can keep up!

im running 1 12inch medium profile and 1 12 inch high performance curved blade Spal fan.

the latter flows more air but is quieter than the medium profile one. on their website, the curved blades are supposed to be much quieter.

but they are still both loud!

i have had zero issues with my alternator!

I got smoked by a g35 today and it pissed me off only because of the douche that was driving it. I guess it's time to up the boost to 10 psi but those things would still own me.
