What have you done to your MSP today?

got an error CEL code on a OBDII reader that said my Cam Positioner Sensor is off. Has anyone replaced this sensor and how hard is it? Does it require removal of the timing belt?

its the sensor mounted to your valve cover on the front passenger side of the engine

I don't recall exactally but I think its 2 bolts and it just pops off, much like the crank angle sensor
 
you guys are awesome!!! I heard from someone else it should cost about $50-$75. Is this true? And is this a dealer only part as well?

Now I'm not quite sure what to do with the stock LSD. I don't need anymore car parts in the garage. Maybe just Ebay the thing I guess.
 
if you are interested I might have a buddy who would buy it off of you, how much would you let it go for?

he wants to solve the lsd issue before it happens so he doesn't get stranded like I did

however before you buy a new one you might be able to solve the problem yourself....pop it off and look at the magnetic pickup to see if there is any kind of metal shavings or anything on it....that can throw off the reading since it is kindof a sensitive sensor

if after that you still have problems then replace it, if you have a buddy with a protege then just swap it with him first to see if it solves the issue...usually your best bet before buying any part if your buddy is willing

I haven't the slightest what it goes for. I think I saw others going for $250-300?? I dunno. (shrug)
 
i tried out the TURBO XS Dual Stage Boost Controller on my car tonight...stage 1 boost spikes at like 9 psi then settles down to 7.5 psi then stage 2 i spikes at 10 psi then settles down to 8 psi with plenty of fuel cut...has ne one else heard or experienced this...i like the stage one boost settings but wished it didn't spike....!!!????
 
do you know at what psi causes fuel cut? like for my mods a spike to nine and steady 7.5 didn't have fuel cut...would you say 8 psi? i've had another boost controller on my car before and it was a homemade one and i could only find one spring that would work and it was at 9psi...with some fuel cut ...but it still had fuel cut...i threw my homemade one on for some autocrossing this past saturday and hell it was a lot of fun running at 9psi
 
on the stock turbo I could run it up to 11-15 psi without fuel cut lol

I only had fuel cut issues with larger turbos, minus the gt28

when you had the other boost controller on it did you have a faulty wastegate?
 
my car hits fuel cut running stock boost during humid/rainy days...and i hit fuel cut without even being under full boost during those days.
