What have you done to your MSP today?

It's a regular parts store aftermarket thermostat 195 degree, I may as well try to replace it.

I thought mine was good until I got the new one and tested it with the old... The old thermostat would open cockeyed and would close the same... So only half coolant was getting through... If that makes any sense

It's worth a shot, I can get an OEM thermostat probably as cheap as an aftermarket one. Although I would expect the thermostat to make the car run hotter, I wish I had an aftermarket coolant temp gauge.

I really like the look don't get me wrong and I've always enjoyed your ride but have you looked into a different fender that doesn't look so out of place. It's just weird having the fender stop abruptly. Just my opinion.

Confirmed that the valve noise is due to the cracked manifold. I'm getting a p0102 maf low input. I forgot to clean it before I put it back on the car and it sat there for months so I'm hoping that's the problem...

Took it for a test drive today and holy s*** did I miss that car!

Something in a groupon notification caught my eye....

^it's the dudes pumping iron isn't it?

Anybody got an exhaust manifold for sale?.. I'd take a stock non cracked or welded one if you got it...

(sorry for the crappy cell pics)

lip looks good!

little help on a problem i'm experiencing.

yesterday: during my morning commute, my radio restarted itself 5 times and after that i started to hear a whining sound that followed my revs. on my way home, i turned my parking lights on (with fog mod) and the car jerked like it shut off for a quick second. ebrake and abs light came on. no whining sound though.

today: radio didnt restart itself but when i turned my parking and fog lights on, the car jerked. same dummy lights came on and i heard whining for the first 10 minutes of my 30 min commute.

bad alternator?

possibly. load test the battery to see if its being charged i suppose would be easiest and quickest to find out if the alt. took a crap. i know mine did that before. it was in and out so i was getting inconsistent readings but at night when i had all my accessories on, lights, radio, wipers if it rained. my car would just start to jerk and loose power.

yeah before all this started happening my car would randomly jerk here and there. i was thinking it was misfiring. what alternator did you go with? been hearing horror stories with the reman'd ones at autozone/advance

yea def dont. got one and had it for about 9 months and took a crap also. i went with a 140amp high output alternator. modded it with a 100amp fuse and has worked fine since.

car off: 12.8
car on, nothing else on: 13.6
car on, lights on: 13.7
car on, lights and ac on: 12.7

lol ok, hopefully thats the only gremlin u have to tackle to solve your issue.

finally grew the sack to hit full boost on the built engine since it went in. never wanted to hit full boost due to the fact i kept throwing check engine lights for a sensor here and there. fixing my misfire issue, and then fixing my coolant leak. *knock on wood* MSP has been driving nicely. now to up to the boost to 10ish psi for a little bit more fun until i get fully tuned.
