What have you done to your MSP today?

Started wrapping my interior :)

i once owned a suit with that same pattern

Okay, so I've got the SSAFC communication issue straightened out... When change values, I went across the board and lowered them all by .1... Is that okay? And that was after I copied MAP A and pasted it into MAP B. So after I've changed the values to what I want, what's the next step?

you know map b isn't used right? I would have just lowered them starting where the boost starts at, also maintaining your AFRs at the same time though

Yeah, but I copied and pasted it into MAP B just so I could have an open area to "play" with values, then copy and paste it into MAP A. I did start lowering them by .1 from boost onward.

So, I guess I just write it to the ecu at this point, right?

yeah, write to ECU. name the map so you can keep track of which map is what
Cool, thanks! Any input on changing values by .2 across the board? Would that be too much to start off with?

I would stick to increments of .1 for now, save and write to ECU. Drive around and test it out. Check your AFRs and if they are still in the safe range, change them again until you are satisfied

edit: are you datalogging?

Nope, I've got version 1, however I am recording data and saw a pressure reading of 21 at some point... WTF is that? No way can it be boost!

your afc may not be set up completely. It's been a while since I have messed around with mine but check your system settings and engine settings under options in the r4 software. What do they say?

That was the first thing I checked afterwards. It wasn't set up correctly, so I changed it all, but have recorded data since changing it.

offset and drop?

+45, on Espelir springs & stock Tokicos (rolled fenders, used to rub, or more like pop in turn).

Thinking about going to Ground Controls with custom spring rates soon though. Really want to get some Koni Yellows to work without hacking a strut housing.

What kind of drop are the Espelirs? I also inputted your tire size width ect for a complete wheel spec on that.

So, I assumed that the superstock was loaded on the SSAFC because the seller told me it was.... well, I started ducking around with it and had it running really nice afrs at full boost by bad at low rpms. So I reloaded the superstock map and it isn't hitting fuel cut and running 10.7 at boos.

+1 I'm glad you figured it out. I had the same problem with my SSAFC, I thought the Superstock map was loaded on it but it wasn't so the car ran like s*** until I got it hooked up to the computer and had the R4 setup correctly.
I ran the superstock map for a while and my car runs better on the FMIC map, anyone with an FMIC should try it out.

Anyways I picked up some parts tonight, got a nice 2 1/4" stainless cat less J and mid-pipe with a flex section and a (rare, I believe) CP racing 4 point trunk brace all for $150 bucks. The parts have about 10k miles on them and are in great shape. The guy I bought them from has a huge shop at his house full of Mazdas. He has about 6 NA miatas, one turbo, one supercharged, a CWP MS3 with bolt ons, a G8 GXP, etc etc and the place was absolutely full of parts. He works at Mazda and he gave me a brochure from when the MSPs were first released and they had a promotion at different Mazda dealers along with a brand new faceplate and case for the stock H/U (I don't have the stock H/U anymore).

Anyone know what brand mid-pipe it is? I can't tell and there is no stamping on it. It has a bung for a wide band where the stock J pipe does and the J pipe is all one piece with the mid-pipe. Would have been a company that had them in production around 2004.

Never seen the trunk brace. Wanna see it installed. I have a uber rare cp 3 point strut tower bar. Very nice piece

I also learned something interesting that is apparently from the guy who did the suspension work with Racing Beat for the MP3/MSP. He said they had the battery in the trunk and the car was perfect but to put the battery in the trunk for the production cars they would have to do the crash testing all over again so they decided not to. Makes me want to relocate that battery.
