What have you done to your MSP today?

When you grounded the green/black wire off of the pressure switch did the a/c compressor clutch engage?

I know I saw a thread where someone had a problem with a P0171 (system too lean, b1) after the SSAFC install... Anyone point me there? I'm guessing that it's the wiring for the MAF at the SSAFC, but it's raining too hard right now and I don't have time to bring it into the shop.
I have the same code....mine just started it like a month ago. I've had the ssafc installed for over a year now.

My Exedy likes to start slipping after a couple of hard runs through the dragon. When I had it out last week, it really didn't look bad at all. I've been looking at replacements and thought about going back with OE. I really don't want to spend $400 on a stage 2 or 3 clutch and found those "F1 Racing" 6-puck clutches on eBay for cheap. Does anyone have any experience with them or recommend a cheap alternative? Basically, I want to spend $250 or less.

My buddy actually runs one of those in his S2000(needed something quick and cheap) and he doesnt mind it. Definitely grabs good but the pedal is sooooooooooooooooooooft LOL

k. Should I fill it till its on the low side of the blue section of the gauge?

That'll work fine. Install it onto the low side with the car running and the A/C on. Just add small increments until the A/C compressor (hopefully) kicks on.

You really can't go buy those gauges. They're cheap and don't really tell you much. The A/C system on our cars is supposed to be charged with 1.27lb. of refrigerant. That can is at about the right size to do a complete fill. I will try to look up and see what the pressure in the system has to be at in order for it to work, that way you can make a guess as to how much refrigerant was in the system before adding to it.

okie dokie.

Guess if anything I'll just add till the compressor kicks on and then maybe just a tad more.

do they make a legit pressure gauge that will give me a more exact pressure reading so I can see how much more to put in?

Yes, but you don't want to spend the money on that. Last time I was down that way, there were quick lubes doing A/C evac and recharge for $60... Maybe you should just do that.

Although I'd rather you fix this yourself or at least diagnose it. I manage a shop, but I like for people to fix their own stuff. That's probably why I specialize in the higher end stuff because none of my customers are going to try to fix their own car. Haha.

(lol2) Yeah, with most things I like to fix it myself too. Thats how I learn. I know when I'd be in over my head with most things so if I didnt think I could do it i wouldnt.

Perhaps Autozone has a loaner or they can pressure test it?

If you can figure out the pressure it should be at that would help as I can at least get close without going way over with the provided gauge.

I tried topping off my ac years back and unless you have an accurate gauge it will be near impossible to get the right pressure. I have always done every other car I've own'ed and this one it would stay cold for a day or two or three and then starts blowing warm again.

Took it in to a shop and they evacuated and refilled only having to add like 2oz at just the right pressure... been good for the past 5yrs :)

I would not fill your AC system with that system. The gauge is useless and you could over fill your system. I would buy a set of cheap manifolds from a parts store so you can have a accurate pictures of what is going on if you really want to learn.
