Sure it works, but I believe with most of those you still have to turn the key to the on position before you can start it up with the push button. You're just eliminating the turn to crank operation. Its a visual upgrade more than anything, not that there is anything wrong with that.

exactly....its exactly how the S2000 is...I still put the key in and into the "on" position, I just push the button to actually start the car.

Push button ignitions are really popular on the 05-up Mustangs, I think they look cool but don't see the point. I would rather have remote start, but wouldn't put it on a manual car, I frequently leave my car in gear.

Yeah, I have seen a stick shift car with a remote start go about halfway across the lowes parking lot once because the guy forgot he left it in first gear......

the shop that installed mine did that with my car

Some of the systems have a failsafe for manual cars, and you have to go thru a procedure to actually activate the system. My friend had one on his P5 where you had to pull the e-brake, let off the clutch, and wait about 5 seconds for it to beep, saying that it's armed... supposedly preventing the car from trying to start with it in gear.

mine is supposed to have a kill tied to the ebrake where if the ebrake light isn't on it won't attempt to start but the shop cut that corner, and some others so it started, stalled and rolled. It doesn't even work now (at least the key fob doesn't), but I do have clutchless start

It would just be nice when its cold as all s*** outside to start it up from inside the house and run and get into a warm car. When I was in Highschool I had a garage spot and man how I miss having a garage.

So should i go with getting the SLS mid-pipe or custome exhaust... the only thing with that, is that it would prob cost me $400-$500...

Maiello, there's plenty of Lou's custom exhausts in mass. Just Google ratings for your local ones and just go get to know one of them. The guys at mine in Kings ton are wicked chill and if you just tell them what you're looking for they're down for whatever. And they're usually pretty generous about pricing. When I stopped by a few weeks ago they were setting up some kids slammed 1.8t with custom catback straight pipes for like 120 bucks.

Yeah my Brothers go to one in Brockton MA, and one of the shopes he worked for always sent customers there as well, It cost my bro Arounf $500 for his dual on his 2001 tahoe with 3" piping... and he didnt need a new cat.... So the cat alone is gunna cost me arounf $100 pluss if i dont want s***... so either way im looking at $300 Pluss most likely.... and all i have is the $300 lol

Been looking into a starter switch for some time and there are varying combinations.

Due to my remote start i found this is the only one which works though:

It shouldn't matter. The remote start essentially activates the ignition on, and ignition start circuits. The start button is just a replacement for the switch that is already in the key. They are 2 parallel systems that do the same thing, just in different ways.

Really? I didnt know that at all.

In fact one installer was telling me i had to leave my key inside the slot permanently, and he would mould a cover for the engine start button to use over that >_<

If thats the case then no prob we all should get one, im lazy enough as it is to crank.

There is a switch in the ignition to start the car (as well as one to activate the "on" position, which powers your alternator, fuel system etc). The push button start is little more than a switch (a push button one... dur!), and a remote starter basically uses a microswitch to activate a relay, and a relay is nothing more than a switch which is activated by electricity, instead of a finger.

Seeing the common thread? lol

leaving the key in the car, would be because whoever wired up the remote start did it wrong, and didn't properly wire the starter to activate the key "on" circuit. As for moulding covers... sounds like a lot of extra work to me, for no real reason.
