For $30 though and for the MSP... idk... I was thinking about ordering carbon fiber vinyl wrap for my side mirrors.... Yes/No..?
Yeah me and my brother did that one day, and the engine was moving alot and it was manly two of the mounts, the back/transmition mount was the wors, was splitting, so i know those need to be replaced, so figured do them all if im gunna have to do 2.... and my brother checked the front suspention and said it looked fine. (he's an appraiser at a boddy shop)
Take it to a trailer shop and have them install a hitch. That's all you need to get it done.whats needed to have an msp tow stuff lol.. im curious and want to know
All shop manuals for any performance car will say that because the manufacturer wants to cover their tails for warranty claims. If my in-laws can tow a 1200lb pop-up trailer with their automatic Pontiac Vibe, then I can tow the same with my MSP that has more hp and torque. You just can't be an idiot when doing it. Take the flattest routes, stay in lower gear, higher RPMs, and don't romp on the accelerator. The MSP handled the towing pretty well. I also towed a tire trailer to and from Lincoln, Nebraska, which was 2300 miles round trip. That trailer was lighter, figure about 600lbs, and the MSP barely noticed the extra weight.I have a shop manual for the 2003 Protege and I'm fairly certain they mentioned that you should never tow ANYTHING with the car.
No need to remove the IM for the rear MM, i've done it twice without removing the IM and had no problems at all. Just need a couple long extensions and a breaker bar.plan your build so you know what kind of mounts you want in the future. If your staying mainly stock with the exception of a CAI or SRI and a front mount stock replacement is good. If your going all out you should go ahead and spend the money once and get the mounts you want. The rear mount sucks to switch and you'll have to remove the intake mani. I still don't understand how this is related to your shaking at highway speeds though. If your car is not shaking the same when it's parked and revved up or at lower gears doing the same revs (3k is roughly 65 mph in 5th gear) it's not your mounts giving you issues. It could be your 5th gear but if you take 4th gear up to that speed and it's shaking then it's def suspension related. Did your brother put it on the rack and have the suspension alignment checked? or did he just look at the parts and say they looked good?
have you ever wrapped anything? If you havent, good luck. The mirrors are the hardest piece you could attempt to wrap on a car. Next to the door handles
