What have you done to your MSP today?

Ok anyone ever drop the motor for a msp/3rd Gen protege out the bottom? The more hoist I had set up fell through and I can get one that drops the motor out the bottom for relatively cheap from harbor freight. And it would be easier to drop it out the bottom on the msp im pulling it from. I know atleast the front to back subframe has to come out.....anything else?

harbor freight sells an engine hoist for like 150-200.00. it's so worth it!

man it's a pain enough just to remove teh trans from underneath. I'd personally re-evaluate, but I also have my own hoist so that makes my choices easier. good luck either way, keep in mind some things are best left to do with patience, if you're gonna drop it out the bottom cause you're in a rush, I feel you, but think twice about it.

Thanks guys. The other problem is a hoist woukdnt do me much good as at my house im doing it on a gravel driveway and the other house is in the grass but its already off the ground quite a bit. Ill let you guys know how it goes

^^^ Nice... How's it working??

First gear is down right scary and not because of the speed either... The spike is fuckign nuts! I put little to no preload on the WGA arm and it spikes upto 12-15 psi and settles at 5/6psi but only in 1st gear and it doesn't do it all the time. The other gears have 2-3psi spike and settle back down to 5/6psi. I don't know if this thing needs to break in or what but Ill just stay out of first gear for awhile.

Everyone knows the radio anttena sucks in our cars. Has anyone installed a booster? If so did you have any luck with it?

I've been wondering about that too, it blows, and is getting annoying, I thought the really nice new headunit I put in would help, and it does a little, but still sucks

Its on pretty freaking tight on the WGA but didn't get a chance to check the other end due to my hood not opening... 8( I think the cable broke I'll have to check it out tomorrow. I'm done messign with the car for today.

and thats why I say its down right scary

What the hell, I can barely hit boost at all in first gear with my ATP.
With my ATP and replacement exhaust housing the ATP WGA was stetchy at best.. it would literally nouce around while in boost between 9-12psi

If you find that you need a new cable, I got a friend(that I got my motor from this afternoon) that has the stock cable and latch he'll sell you for cheap.

I think you're playing a chicken or the egg game there... I'm curious to see what happens when you're running a proper tune.

This reminds me, I was looking around the engine bay when my car was idling and noticed that my WGA was shaking rather violently. I have solid motor mounts but I'm not so sure it is supposed to be vibrating?

Had the tires wrapped in new rubber yesterday. Got Hankook Ventus V12evo's slapped on. Feel great so far, but its kinda hard to test them on the boring, straight, POS roads here in Florida...

You mean wheels wrapped in new rubber? Lol nice dude that's the same tires I have. They handle pretty nice and I can get them dirt cheap.
