What have you done to your MSP today?

Installed my ssafc. was pretty easy if not for having to do the whole thing with a flashlight in my mouth. cant really feel any power difference but the car doesn't seem to stumble at high rpm or at wot. though the car seems to be dragging somewhere. not sure if its time to clean my filter, gut my cats or clean the maf or what not.
Not as lumpy though. power seems more linear.

but, still running 7 psi on my atp. impressions are limited. also did my rear brakes the other day and when im slowing down i can hear a faint squeel.. not sure if i ****** something up or not. its only when the brake is applied. i know they work just fine cause i adjusted the ebrake and it holds great.
once you tune the ssafc better for your can you will notice a huge difference, and as far as the squeaking goes, are you sure you greased the crap out of everything possible? just to make sure I don't have to go back in there, I make sure I grease the back of the pads, the spring pin things that go into the pads, and the areas around the clips, that is usually the problem when I have a small squeak, as long as the pads are in good condition and the caliper dust boot isn't torn

Just so you are clear its 2 green on the passenger side and 2 purple on the drivers side
hmm, I was actually thinking they were alternating, but I just went out side and took the cover off my engine so I could get a good look.. and what do you know, it is 2 green 2 purple, left to right.. I think I actually set my brother's msp up with alternating, when I put him back to the stock fuel rail/injector setup, and yes, he is idling lean now.. I will have to check on them when he gets back this weekend and change that to see if it makes a difference, I will post it up if he does not idle lean after I change them around (if he does have them alternating and not 2 green 2 purple)

where did you guys get your vacuum blocks?
I got mine from vibrant, works great, and my brother's vac. block is the one from Yudkib (can't remember how he spelled his name, but most people know who I am talking about, that one was $15 and it works great, just wish I hadn't tightened the brass plugs so much, because now I can't get 2 of them out...

in all honesty does it even matter? an injector is an injector, no cylinder should be getting a different amount of fuel/spray pattern.. arent they the same exact thing just different color?

like I said up top, it might, because my brother's car is idling lean now, mine use to do that too, but my injectors were always set up properly, the idle lean for me was usually a tiny exhaust mani leak, or egr valve or something like that, but I will post up what I find out when my brother comes home this weekend

Yeah, but that doesn't fly with me.... lol Thus the reason i took out the bigger injectors, because i couldn't get the driveability exactly perfect with the piggyback. The stock injectors never idled lean when i had them in before.... just doesn't make sense

give it some time to learn i run a 505 mani and when i first reset my ecu it runs lean in the 17's at idle but after a few drive cycles it's back in the 14-15 afr range. Could you possibly have a leak before your wideband? i had one and it caused my wideband to read 17-18 at idle when it was really 14-15

like I said before could be the way the injectors are set up, if you didn't have them 2 green 2 purple left to right, but I would say just let it sit for like 10-15min or something like that and take it for a drive a few times and see if that helps, if it still idles lean, then look into it, but it should just need to relearn the idle and all that stuff for a little bit, should even out if that is all it is

Yeah, I just took it for a drive, the AFR's were spot on when i was moving.... when i got back home, it was idling between 15.5 and 16.5. I think your right, it will eventually make its way back into the 14's.

Ill swing by the dealership today and ask them why and if they have different part #.. I need to pick up my clutch line anyways. So might as well beings that im goign to be at the stealership.

Since its painfully obvious this car don't want to leave... I've decided to keep it as a dedicated track car.

I miss having a sole autox / road course car, so hell, this MSP it is.

Drove it to work today and decided to swap out intercoolers.
Old core is a Spearco i/c. Its been good, just did not like how it filled the bumper. Looks weird, IMO.

Pulled the bumper off.

Test fitting the new Precision Turbo FMIC behind the bumper for s**** & giggles.

Finished product.

All in all, VERY satisfied. Turbo lag was improved slightly, not a whole hell of a lot though. But aesthetically, its 100% better.

Next mods will be:

GT2860RS
Haltech Sprint 500
Coilovers
Pick up spare engine and build it on the side. Rods, pistons, cams.

Not building for high horsepower, building to take ABUSE :D
Seriously only want 250 - 265whp

^^^, well with those mods you should be able to get that pretty damn easily, might even get more than you want once all said and done with a tune

PS, I hate you lol, I'm dying to start saving up for a total build/larger turbo ect.. just in transition now into the "real world" and jobs and all that

I thought people were having trouble with the Sprint 500, like it won't work on our car trouble.

^ i haven't heard that, I'll let you know in a month or two. Mine will be set up more like a pnp piggy back though

got a few strange looks today with people seeing my passenger side all ripped up and the ecu on the floor. really gotta put that back together tonight lol. probably gonna redo the afc install sometime later once i figure out a good place to drill through the firewall on the passenger side for the vac line.

I'm pretty sure that you can fish your vacuum hose through one of the firewall grommets so you don't have to drill a hole. I don't have a SS but I know I've seen people posting about doing that during the install process over the years.

Ordered good right clutch and brake lines today and installed my new OEM clutch line from mazda.... the inner dimeter of the new line was a little bigger then the old one... So my clutch doesnt feel as stiff and is very easy

That is news to me and JDMSam highly recomends it... maybe its a installation issue just liek others have had with the AFC and AEM

Are you getting yours pre wired?

^^ I don't think they allow that kind of advertising without proper pics.

Tonight I went to look at an 06 Sentra Spec V. It looks immaculate and drives perfect, so I was wondering why it's been for sale longer than 2 months... dirty car fax. Looked it up and found "front bumper damage" but I am not giving up on it just yet. If I can get it for a decent price, I will just run the b**** into the ground and won't have to worry about a resale value. Ironically, my MSP has a clean car fax even though it sustained front end damage over a year ago. Just goes to show you, car fax doesn't mean s***.

car fax only knows what gets reported to insurance

ya that's what I did, no need to drill holes... well actually I might have just came in from the driver side, and T'ed it off from the boost gauge and the ssafc.. can't remember, I had that setup in my first msp, but now that I think about it, when I re-did it on my new one, I went through the pass. side, and just used the T for the boost controller and the boost gauge on the driver side.. so that way the ssafc had it's own line going through the pass. side grommet, just take some scissors and take one of the blades and just cut some lines, or just use a exacto-knife, just be careful, but ya, just cut a nice little area so it doesn't pinch the hose

Tried my rc body reamer to make a hole in the groumet but no dice. I have it coming through the clutch groumet where sub wire used to be. Ill leave it alone for now. Seems the serial usb cabke doesnt work on window 7.
