What have you done to your MSP today?

Thanks man, Omar did the sig pic for me.

On the steedspeed mani have you contacted him about it? From what I undestand they have a life time warranty on then.

Yea I did contact him but it's a huge mess. He sent me a replacement and I gave him a deposit until he received the old manifold. So I went to get it swapped at a local tuner shop and they didn't clean the coating out of the threads and got one of my ARP studs stuck in the manifold... obviously I was pissed but all I could do was either take it to machine shop and pay more money on top of what I paid for the labor at the tuner shop (cause they installed my ATP wastegate) or I could just sell the manifold and get some money back. So I sold it. Leen did his best to make it right, but in the end I got ****** by the tuner shop. I think this time I will just do it myself with the assistance of my mechanically inclined friend. It shouldn't be too bad since I am getting all new parts.

Just my opinion and experience Steed will take care of you and that mani should never cause as many headaches as the Thunder (mine cracked and I welded it 5x cracking in a different place every time) if you ever have plans to up the boost.

Not sure if the gauge piping had been changed or grade of ss used in the V3 but the one I had was like welding a stick of butter...

Yea I have heard a lot of bad things about the old one's, though according to Protephile the V3 is a completely revamped design. I do like the new steedspeed, so I'm kinda torn right now.

If all the issue was is the threads needing to be chased out the tuner shop SHOULD able to do that for you.

dont get a thunder, thats all im going to say
the steedspeed is better in every way, and he actually honors the lifetime warranty...
try getting another thunder from protephile when yours cracks....yea right

Ordered some transition couplers and t-bolts for my new intercooler core from Silicone Intakes. I was going to get Vibrant parts to match the rest of my couplers, but I can't stand to pay about 1/3 more at the local speed shop than I just did online WITH shipping. Also bought a steel joiner to put in place of my MAF on the intake. I'm not 100% sure it will be long enough but it was $8 so I figured why not try it.

Also I spoke with Leen yesterday and he agreed to help me out. Many thanks to him. Can't wait for his intake manifold.

what does this v3 thunder look like , is this something new that they are working on.

well in m back seat right now i have the last piece of my kmr rear vbrace, the very rare CP 3 point strut tower brace, and a ssafc v2 thanks to my boy scratchnsniff. will be probably powdercoating the strut tower bar seeing as the baby blue paint is peeling off(not that i like the bb paint) just wish i could get replacement CP stickers...

the ssafc should hopefully be going in sometime this week, depending on how soon justanothermp5 gets his t3 setup in so he can help me put it in a and tune. and sometime in march i will be making another dyno run with the tune and all my other goodies.

I haven't seen my MSP in 4 days. I miss it :(

Good news is, once I move to Florida, Buzzy is gonna LOVE the weather. No more road salt or cold starts FTW!!!

Lookin more and more like Vero Beach. Gonna be going to flight school down here and I feel the MSP is a perfect car for a young pilot. The wing might be a dead giveaway though. LOL

I'll definitely be hitting up as many Mazda folk as I can while I'm down in this part of the US.

Along the same lines, I'm going to be bringing my yet-to-be refirbished CF hood with me when I move. I haven't decided what I want to do with it yet, but will come up with some pshop ideas. Just to give an idea, I am thinking I have 1 of 4 options:

Refirbish the whole thing and run with a full CF hood
Paint the hood 25G and be stealthy with a CF hood
Paint the hood, but leave the "accent lines" on either side of the hood CF (possibly with MAZDASPEED in CF on another part of the hood)
OTHER ideas?

not sure what you mean by accent lines unless it painting the sides above the headlights back following the lines and leaving the middle CF

No, the area between the sides and the middle, where it sort of "steps down." It would be really subtle, but that's sort of my style, as many know...

Yo Jeff lets see some pictures of your carbon fiber door handles (interior) or whatever they call that piece. My little brother was raving about them today when he rode in my car lol.
