What have you done to your MSP today?

OEM Kenwood subwoofer gave up the ghost (voice coils were shot) and just replaced it with this Kicker 07C84 8" Single 4 ohm Comp Series Car Subwoofer:

The original SW was an 8 ohm so I'm sure the amp was working some overtime versus the newer 4 ohm SW. Nice to have some good solid bass in the car again..

seriously considering taking out the medieval rear mm and putting the stocker back in. when the ac is on the dash shakes so bad it feels like the car is falling apart

i hear the inserts are the happy medium for that issue

I got inserts all around. Tad bit of vibration but its not that bad. I barely can tell with the music on.

The noises from the vibrating interior pieces makes it way more notice imo. I need to find a front insert and get a new rear motor mount. Thats where all my vibrations are coming from. Its beyond shot.

down the line, will prolly do solid motor mounts on the sides and inserts on the front + rear. not tryna have all that vibration everyone keeps talkin about :)

I find it best to leave the rear stock. However with that said more stress if up on it with other mounts being solid. I have yet to try inserts all the way around.

i have inserts in the front and sides. before the rear mm it wasnt bad. now with the rear mm when it idles i feel like its gonna fall apart. i thought about making a video of it today. lol

I might get stock with rear inserts sometime .i have an awr and its more livable now than it was, but the front mount fixed my wheel hop. i might get a stocker and engine damper.

of course, not anytime soon because its a huge PITA

im thinking about a dampener as well. cause i still get some wheelhop even tho all 4 mounts are upgraded

i have front and rear 70dm, side inserts at 70. now all my wheel hop comes from my Spec heh.
Miguel *correct?* is running a damper with the rear mount and says its more livable so i might go that route.
i dont really wanna contort to take that mount off again if i can avoid it.

Keep in mind the engine damper will reduce engine lash but at the expense of making the strut tower a stethoscope for engine noises.

i dont care how loud the car is up there, the cabin hurts my brain lol. actually it isnt that bad since i swapped the front tires for 40s. shouldnt be that much difference in size but i guess the extra rpms needed for the smaller tire make cruising in 5th without brainsplode possible now ha.
Could always insulate the tower bar too. rubber groumets?

vibration is an inverse function of engine movement. you either get one or the other, bottom line. what your tolerance is will determine how much you get. I've got side inserts, a 95 duro rear mount, and an epoxy filled front mount. I still get wheel hop due to what I believe are bad A-arm bushings. but my engine is rock solid. I choose not to care too much about the vibrations, and even my fiance doesn't mind them anymore.
