What have you done to your MS3 today?

stock clutch went in my 07 ms3 any recommends on what brand to get I'm shopping around and not sure what to get need something that's not gonna take another s*** anytime soon something heavy duty lol
How many miles. Did you abuse it ?
I beat mine senseless and then some more and it survived til today, i think it's at about 74k now.
I did have it stink up the car a couple times when the boost was high and the traction very good.

Bt the way i am interested in what folks think is the way to go.
Do some searching in forums.
Clutches are all rated for how much torque you will throw at them.
so decide what you really want to get out of it.
The stock one is pretty darn good. Maybe that should be the replacement?
So what happened to it anyways ?
 
seems unusual to me its shot. You sure its the clutch and not linkage or something ?

as of right now my car is parked in the back of my house i took it to the dealer so they could check it out because i was having problems accelerating the car would not go any were almost as it had no power and when i would try to press down on the throttle it would boost retarded and would rev high as s*** by itself and it doesnt go anympre than like 30mph with out ating up so they claim its the clutch and were gonna charge me 1600$$ to install a new one so as of right now she is gonna sit until i figure out what i am gonna do
 
I'm at 75k and I can still chirp 3rd. OEM clutch is ******* phenomenal. That's not to say I've never heard of them going prematurely. But my god, to kill one of those things you have to either be making serious power (close to 400whp) or be beating the hell out of one.

lol... I didn't really do any serious mods just swapped out all the mounts got the trz trans and the dog bone rear and passenger side- injen cold air intake-hks BOV-Megan racing cat back exhaust but like I said didn't really beat her much its the only car I have but she does have some power since I got the car I had to replace the timing chain,fuel pump,suspension,and front axle/cv boots so it feels like its just one problem after another
 
If the clutch was failing, it would create no load and you'd make no boost. Sounds like something else is going on.

EDIT: Since when does megan racing make a cat back for the speed3?

A slipping clutch can most definitely put load on the engine and there will most definitely still be boost. You would be right if the clutch was completely shot or otherwise totally disengaged.

Almost sounds like the rear main seal could be going and oil is getting on the clutch. That seems a little silly... but given that you've had to do a bunch of other replacements that are abnormal for 30k miles of wear I'd keep an open mind.
 
^^^in that case fluid levels and parking spots should be checked several times for levels and drips

As strong as any given clutch might be from ford focus to ferrari, a good ol fashion clutch slip abuse can **** uo a brand new surface in no time
 
Installed a CNT cat back today. Finally 3" from turbo back, finally enough flow.
And finishing using 3M headlight restoration kit to complete the headlights. The kit works awesome.
 
How's the fitment on yours? I have a friend up here that installed one and it hits the plastic on the bumper because of the bizarre angle it takes.
 
I appreciate everyone for the help I'm glad they have forums like these tired of going to dealers and them telling you other wise better off with people who have the same car and know what they are talking about
 
Quick question. When i turn my steering wheel full lock on either side I get a weird sound. It sounds like something slipping or falling off. Any thoughts? Could it be my coils or front sway?
 
Mostly happens at slow speeds either going forward or reversing and especially at inclines. I just parked and turned the wheels full lock on both sides and it made the noise. It really sounds metal-ish. It could be my tires but i just raised the car up another inch....oh well, after my JBR goodies come in I may take apart the front suspension to look around. I also saw my bump stops and they basically disintegrated....pieces of yellow rubber/foamy material fell from the tops of coils.
 
Mine were like that too, stock suspension

If youre not rubbing and its doing it when youre stoped maybe there is a problem with the strut tower bearing
