What have you done to your MS3 today?

I swear yesterday was TR mz3 day on my way home from work. I think i had passed about a dozen of them, completely unprecidented because i usually see the same 1 TR on my way home

in addition almost every other color was repped during that same travel period. but, of course, not a single one was a speed. i see another speed, be it 1st or 2nd gen, less often than i see a nissan gtr or viper or 911 turbo.

on another mustang note, some guy in my neighborhood got a new one. until yesterday i had only seen yhe ass end in the garage so i didnt know what engine it was. turns out its just the v6, so im not AS jealous. i would love to trade in the speed for that v8 if i didnt need 4doors and uuber room due to my workaholic nature

I installed my JBR short shift plate yesterday. Pics and info in my build thread.

I've been thinking and I think that my long term goal is 400 WHP/TQ with as efficient of a turbo as possible. I know that I will probably lose some spool time but I have a lot of research before I do any of it. New mani, turbo, P&P intake mani, injector seals, Cobb AP, and possibly meth. Anything I'm missing?

You should probably get it to the 300+whp mark and re-evaluate. All I wanted was 300 whp, now that I have that I know that there's room for more with a big turbo. There's a great thread on MSF about how to get 400whp.

That's good advice. I will wait and see how much I'm putting down in a month when the car goes on the dyno. I'll re-evaluate then.

big turbo is a big investment

i have maxxed my turbo at this point and am sitting pretty at 325/360. and thats detuning the low end so i dont have 400ft/lbs at some stupid low rpm. all on straight 93, no meth, no exhaust mani, no port work

my car moves, 1-2 are useless, 3rd is dependent on road conditions

you will only have traction from the top of 4th -6 if you go BT

as ant said, re-evaluate where you are at. you wont be doing things twice if you get an ATP turbo

i will be going with a 3071/36 (still up in the air), setting it to 20psi and calling it a day.....should net me 375 or so and 350 ft lbs, which is perfect for me

I got the Hawk PC, lower dust and no discernible difference in braking power. Maybe a little less initial bite, but that's it. I don't track the car, so this works out great for me.

meh the wheels are gunmetal anyway and look pretty much the same clean or dirty

minus the shine obviously

ill wax the s*** out of them when i take em off to do the pads

I'm currently trying out the armor all wheel protectant stuff and so far its working pretty well on my white wheels. I haven't driven enough to give a detailed opinion but it was around $5 and really easy to spray on. I will be purchasing ss lines and pads within the week and will be washing the inside of my wheels and coating them with the stuff.

hit 300 miles on the break in of my newly built motor. runs as smooth as an off-the-shelf Cobb tuned built motor can. just a little bit lean at lower rpms due to the bigger cpe intake. keeping it below 3500 rpms and 3 psi at the very most. oil pressure and coolant temp are rock solid. lines to the turbo all work flawlessly. waiting on my Grimm speed electronic boost controller. once i hit 500 miles ill be changing the oil and filter again and then if everything is still good ill be getting a tune shortly after 700 miles. fingers crossed.

dooo it oakland

Ugh i wish. my car is the bastard child of my life. At this point it only receives enough money for it to survive. i was lucky i got the cai and ht when i did

but shes my clunkers and i love her

the next thing i will need is a complete set of tires before winter hits. seems like there might be a new all-season favorite? i went from stock potenzas to eagle gt. i was happy with them, but they lasted just as long as the potenzas did, ~30k miles

if i had some money i would love go have 2 sets of wheels+tires for summer and winter

Yesterday was the end of its fourth year. I've put on a whopping 27,551 miles in all that time. Methinks that extended warranty will run outta calendar before it runs outta miles.

I'm lookin' at the Continental DWS for when mine wants new shoes (in a year or so). Maybe a set of Yokohama YK-580s, but they're way more money. I have a set of OEM wheels and TPMS sensors, but not a serious need for swap-outs here in North Florida. :D
