What have you done to your MS3 today?

There are two types of trans mount out there. I like the 2 piece design that replaces the lower (tripod) mount. I don't like the stock design of a downward facing bolt. The torque of the motor can and does cause too much stress on the bolt and tripod. The two piece designs point the bolt in the same transverse position so the force is spread over the length of the bolt inside the bushing.

yeah i replaced the transmission mount wit the trz mount and once i removed the main bolt it was almost to a point were it was gonna snap thats how bent it was i do hate the design of the trans bracket and the fact that it is made of cheap ass aluminum

Drove it a total of 1300 miles to and from Nelson Ledges speedway, and used it as my bed (air mattress FTW) to drive for Mod Squad in "The Longer Longest Day" Chump Car endurance race. We had two MK2 MR2s on StarSpecs... so good. My first time doing aggressive wheel-to-wheel racing, very nerve wracking, very exciting.

1300 miles for Nelson Ledges! (eek2) Hope you had a fun time and kept it on track. Despite how bumpy that place is the track is really fun.

I didn't get as much driving time as I was scheduled for because of car issues (overheating and car-to-car contact) but Mod Squad is such a relaxed and enjoyable group that it was a total blast. One of the driver's wife cooked for everyone for the entire time we were there too.

I did put two in the dirt a couple times, and the back end got squirrely going through the kink in 5th gear at 5krpm w/o braking, just throttle lifting, and also a little exciting hammering 3rd gear through turn 13 onto the front straight (yay throttle oversteer). I reached my two goals though: don't crash the car and don't be the slowest on the track, so I call it a win.

Sounds like a really fun time, definitely a win. I'd love to do something like that one day.

Started tweaking with my bpv preload as I begin the tuning process yet again.

New goal - 325whp 350wtq

i haz a dp installed, but im tuned for stock dp and catless testpipe, hence the retuning

and the oem bpv essploded which was why i wasnt hitting consistant boost. now i am.

21psi, 12.0 AFR, MADDDDD Timing here I come

Got a ******* EGR code today... on my way to work. NYSI is due this month, too. What's the protocal? Clean it? Is there a how to? (I'm sure there is) And if so... does someone have a link?

I would try to erase it with a scantool first. Sometimes it just throws a code even though most other times it functions just fine

i think ive thrown a code related to egr 3 times since ive owned the car. Always just erase

Make sure you clean the EGR valve AND the EGR pipe. You may also find yourself cleaning out the intake manifold where the pipe dumps into it. Get some good cleaner and some metal bristle round brushes. Harbor Freight has a set for a couple bucks. When you are cleaning the valve, make sure you open the valve and clean the shaft. You'll have to take the actuator off the top of it so you can depress it with your finger. I think I wrote up a quick and dirty how to a few pages back.

Here it is...
