What have you done to your MS3 today?

just installed LaraS's gtpec trunk brace. Used her how to with great pics of course.
Took me about and hour and i put some of the trim parts back in place finally.
Thanks LaraS you rock.
And i still love my cargo net. its a beautiful day so ....See ya!

Ummmm...Domino, that is $499 for a SET of 4. I paid $536, and got the wheels, a can of wheel wax, a set of replacement hids, and free shipping. Took 2 days to ship to my door step.

See, now that's a good deal. I was pissed, I thought they were charging more for knock-offs. Good deal, man! They look good, great stance.

Got my STS from her today, too!
So what exactly does a Shuttle Transport Sytem do?
haha. yes she will be missed. And give us a report after install!
i got about 250 miles on today and i feel that the brace is what i hoped it would be. is actually quieter now

Installed the TWM - Thanks, again, Lara. It's a big improvement. Anyone looking for a short shift plate? $40 shipped.

What brand is the SSP? Why not use the SSP and the TWM together?

I'm glad you two like the GTSpec bracing and STS. :)

Yesterday I washed my girl inside and out..she is spotless. Had a guy come look at her, only to say that he can get a regular Mazda 3 cheaper. Well, no s***! He then asked me what the difference between the regular 3 and Speed3 is, then proceeded to say he didn't need to test drive it because he's driven the MS3 many times. Yeah right.

get used to it, and persevere
if you have not done any sales, by the time you get paid for your car you will be shocked, appallled, and amused by the slugs that come knocking at your door

just remember, they (mostly) all have a licsense to drive next to you in traffic

you may thin the scum wave by typing manual stickshift in the title of the ad, but only by a little

this is what i found once removed everything to replace the stock trans mount with the new trz trans mount (FML) so now i got to find out were to get this part most likely its a dealer part once again (FML) LOL

I do like it! Only critique is this - I wish TWM used a stiffer spring for the reverse engagement, because when I rest my hand on it, like I did today, for long trips... it kinda sinks. The spring is kinda soft. Other than that... love it. I can see why you miss it in your car, Lara.

I have the same complaint about the TWM, domino.

msfanatic, shot you a PM. Tough luck about that. My piece was fine, but I'm glad my trans mount is designed differently from the TRZ.

For those of you that have replaced the tranny mount, how did it change the way the car drove and do you recommend it? I currently have a CP-e rear mount only, but I have considered a new tranny mount and passenger side mount.

Rolled my left rear fender some more yesterday, put on my front spacers (now running 18x8" +30, effectively), installed my 4.3k hid fog lights, 3k yellow bulbs in the high beams, and then my battery died (factory), so I had to go buy a new 7-year one from Advanced.

BTW, does anyone know how to aim foglights on a speed 3? One of mine is lower than the other, and really irritates the CRAP out of me. I have hids in there, and I have them independently wired under the fuse box, and I really want to get this aiming thing fixed. I plan on removing the reflector in the fog light housing, but now I need to aim them. I posted a thread in the appearance forum, but if any of you can explain, i would GREATLY appreciate it.

i think your looking at bending the bracket, or, possibly, loosening it, and putting a shim between the housing and mount either top or bottom.... and retightening

I'd be interested to see some pictures of the wheels on your car with the spacers. I'm at a 18x8 +40 right now and I'm not sure I could go another 10mm wider.

I 100% reco replacing the trans mount. You will get a little more cabin vibes, but the trade off is a more direct and connected feel. If you can swing it, replace both side mounts at the same time. I replaced only the trans mount because it failed and now, a year later, the passenger side is borked, too. (Looking to buy one here...)

There are two types of trans mount out there. I like the 2 piece design that replaces the lower (tripod) mount. I don't like the stock design of a downward facing bolt. The torque of the motor can and does cause too much stress on the bolt and tripod. The two piece designs point the bolt in the same transverse position so the force is spread over the length of the bolt inside the bushing.

As far as aiming the fogs, I have been told or read that there is an adjustment on the bracket, but I have not been able to find it by looking underneath the car. I'm going to have to pull the bumper off to find it as I have the same problem as you. I think it was after I had my front bumper replaced because of a red-light-runner.

Thanks for the response on the tranny mount. I will definitely get both from JBR when they are available.

As for the fogs, you don't have to remove the front bumper to get to them, just 3 screws on each side on the panels directly below the fog lights infront of the wheel. super easy to get to and you get full access to the fog light. I saw the adjustment screw on the bottom of the fog light, but when I loosened it, nothing happened. I didn't know how to adjust the vertical height. Hopefully someone can chime in here.

Go back a few pages and see the pics I posted of my new wheels. That is 18x8 225/40/18 at +35. I added 5mm in the front, and have 30 front, 35 rear. There was definitely plenty of room, and could probably go more if I needed to.
