way to stick with it! how many miles do have on your car? so i can expect when to do mine
^^ nice work on the heat shield. gains or no gains it looks really good.
only 12,000 miles on the car so it's not a good indicator. the OEM pads have been to the track about a half dozen times and i completely fried them the last time out...
i actually also have plans to maybe put a high cfm fan in the bottom of the intake shield to draw air in from the bottom, i have a few fans off of some computers laying around that will fit great............. ill have it switched inside the cabin. just an idea right now though, not sure its really worth doing but it could be cool.
12k!!! hardparker!!!
but when i take it out i drive it like it's meant to be driven!
Nice work! I like!So i thought i would try my hand at making a SRI heat shield. so i did a rough fit with some card board once i got the fit right i transfered it onto the sheat metal i had laying around and cut it out, formed the angles, drilled and riveted the bottom piece on. pictures show it installed. i wrapped the metal with some 3m Di-Noc and wrapped all the sharp edge with some door saver molding, i think it came out pretty good. best part is that ive noticed about a 6-8 degree cooler reading with my dashhawk on the intake temp. all from stuff i had laying around the garage.
^^^um...are you talking about providing the engine with air or just the intake filter? Zoomzoom was talking about providing air outside the heat shield he made, but you sound like you thought the fan was meant to go in the intake plumbing
