What have you done to your MS3 today?

I personally went with a full CP-E turbo back exhaust which made a noticeable difference. I'm not sure if just a TP will be noticeable although I have heard from others that it is. Resetting the ECU was just an idea to help you out.

Just got back - still don't feel a difference. I almost think I'm running less boost. Slightly. Possible?

how far did you drive? usually takes at least 50-100 miles of massaging the car through the RPM to "break in" the new part.

After some driving additionally last night around to Lowes and to take my little boy home it felt a little faster.

Seriously, though, I want to thank everyone for the help and the heads up. With any luck, Santa will be bringing me a Hypertech. :D

Here's a cell pic of my new wheels just after I mounted them. I still need to lower the front down more and put in my 10mm spacers/extended studs up front.

strick, s*** looks awesome! i think i still prefer your previous setup with the hiros but i'm not complaining.

check engine light came on for a couple hours today then disappeared. weird. i can't imagine what it was....

Looks good! I still like your old Hiros better.. but this is nice too. :)

mmm looking good strick. I like the chrome lip better compared to the hiros. Plus 18s make the car look more slammed. How is clearance issues on it and can you post up full specs?

Nothing. Today, at least. But tomorrow or Thursday, whenever it stops snowing, I'll have to push off about 2.5 or 3 ft of snow and finally throw on the snows for the season. :(

Check it out at your local autozone or aap....I'm sure the code is still in memory

on the way home i stopped at a shop and talked to a tech. the check engine light literally shut off as i was pulling up to the shop. the guy said not to worry about it if the light went off. the computer decided that whatever issue it saw is fine now. he also said that if i come in today he would scan it for free just to satisfy my curiosity...

I am not knowledgeable, but I like guessing codes, mainly because they can be anything and never guess right. I'd say it is P4040 (or is it P0404?) the faulty EGR code. Basically something has gummed up the EGR--not bad, but every once in a while it triggers the CEL. Should be easy enough to clean and fix, unless you let it go and it gets dirtier.

Of course it could be one of a million other codes, but like I said, just my guess! Good luck!

Yea, if the light goes back off that does mean the ecu corrected the problem, or the problem somehow solved itself. But wouldn't you like to know what the code was? I know I would

the thing is that i have less than 9k miles on the car and have maintained it well. only engine mods i have are SRI and TIP which have been on for 8 months already. i doubt the EGR could be dirty already...?

yes, i'm definitely curious! might go in today if i have time.

well the PCV system isn't the brightest light bulb in Mazda's closet. my EGR valve at 45,000 was almost destroyed with gunk. I feel very lucky that a throrough cleaning solved the issue and it hasn't come back in 20,ooo miles. Of course, mine is a 2008 and didn't just have 8,000 miles.....
