What have you done to your MS3 today?

Picked up a stray dog that was about to get hit on a busy road.

He thanked me by puking in my hatch and shedding and drooling everywhere too. Pretty awesome.

Eventually found his owner though and got him home. Happy ending? Not for my car.

Cargo tray might have helped a little since you can rinse that out. Good lookin' out though!

here's a quick teaser of my underhood temp relief project :) The hood had a ton of rock chips, so I stripped the whole panel and will repaint it today. It is currently in sealer.

s***, how hot does our car run? I mean, I understand they put out a decent amount of heat, but really not that much considering most turbo cars. Maybe your makes more heat because of that ATP GT2871...?

THANK YOU BUNCHES!!! Sorry about the mess, but you did an VERY GOOD thing.

We picked up two weekend before last under similar conditions. Fortunately, we were in my Ram. We looked for owners and had no luck. Bought food, water, etc., and brought them home. Two beautiful ladies who need a home. We already have seven dogs, so nine will be a bit much. Hopefully, we can find homes for them.

Thank you again for saving a life.

ordered new tire/wheel combo for AutoX racing...255/35R18 Hoosier A6's on TR Motorsport 18x8.5" C2 wheels. Looking forward to trying them out in a few weeks.

Took her on an epic drive today.
Also, I know none of you will believe me, but I filled up my tank, drove just under 20 miles, and filled up again for the hell of it after basically going 60 mph straight up a country road, with two or three pulls from 0 in there.
The result? 44.3 MPG.
So there you have it. If you want to hypermile your MS3, hug that right lane and stick it in 6th at about 60 mph.

Thats precisely how I manage to get 20-22 MPG's on my commute to work every day. And that's nearly all bumper-to-bumper traffic for about 18 miles (about 6-7 of those straight shot, no lights).

I assume you filled up each time at a regular, commercial, fuel pump? I would be amazed if they could refill your tank repeatably to within a tenth of a gallon, I bet that skewed your numbers a bit. If you ran for 200-300 miles and got the same result I would believe you, but over 20 miles +/-0.1gal is ~+/-10MPG.

I used to routinely run 200 miles straight through at 60-65 on cruise control and get 30-33 MPG.

well, my hood gets verrrrry hot due to the new mani and lack of heat shields, so I decided to fab up a functional scoop to provide some air flow to the back of the motor. Ill post some pics with it painted this afternoon. The scoop is from a WRX.

I had really good luck with my old turbo car using Swain White Lightning on the manifold. I know Jet Hot has a pretty good coating as well. When the time comes to replace my mani and turbo, I'll be using coatings everywhere possible. Any other Speed people have their stuff coated? Really makes a big difference and isn't horribly expensive.
