What have you done to your MS3 today?

That looks good fourthmeal. Are you gonna put a grill or something over it to protect it?

Working on a solution there...

Waiting for my other amps to arrive. Then, I'll tackle the sub.

If I have to, I can still throw the original trunk cover in, and cover the whole thing up. I just can't play the sub too loud or it would touch the cover.

Oh, Man!! I hope you didn't put holes in your bumper that weren't there before w/o asking us for some suggestions??? I would give anything not to have the bracket holes in mine.
I don't know about Ohio, but in Texas you may display your front plate in the windshield instead of the front bumper.
What I did was get some really good suction cups designed to hold up an acrylic display @ my store. The slotted backs were a little big in diameter, which is a good thing. I trimmed off two sides and slipped the cups into the slotted holes @ the top of the plate. I then slid the plate between the dashboard and windshield and attached the suction cups to the windshield.
Now I can easily remove it any time I want, i.e. a Mazda Meet, it stays put and almost out of site most of the time and it doesn't look like ass on my front bumper. Best of all, it's perfectly legal!! The cops don't like it, but they can't give you a hard time about it either.
Check the laws on your states DOT website. You may be able to do the same.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it has to be mounted on the front bumper, its such BS, I had mine in the windsheild on my eclipse and got a ticket for that before too so I figured id play by the stupid rules... And the holes were already there from the dealer putting the front bracket on, I didnt catch them in time!!!

voiceKoil,
Where ya' been, Man!! That post was exactly a month ago today. I wasn't sure...had to look back to page 36 to find it!! (lol)

Now, did you check out DOT or are you taking the cops word for it? I ask 'cause I was pulled over in Texas for "illegal" tint by a DPS officer (essentially, the State Police,) but when I checked it out I discovered that all he was trying to do was harrass and scare me. My tint IS legal in the sate of Texas. Had he written me a ticket I could've fought it and won.
BTW: I now carry a copy of that law in my glovebox in case they want to try it again. (rlaugh)

I got pulled over here in Austin a couple of months ago for no front plate on my Mazdaspeed MX-5. When I explained to the cop that I didn't want to mount it because it blocked half the opening up front, he said I could display it in the window and that it was perfectly acceptable to do so (here in Texas anyhow), just as long as the tag is visible from the front of the car.

...so when I traded my MSM for my MS3, I made sure to grab the suction cups that had been holding the plate so I could repurpose them for the MS3. I just mounted the front plate in the window of the MS3 today and the next time it goes in the shop for something, I'll have them put the undrilled front trim piece on the car in place of the drilled piece. I probably could have lived with the holes, but it was only $20 for a replacement piece so I figured I might as well.

I installed the Buddy Club condenser today, the car is definitely running a lot smoother and the car seemed to pull a little harder or something. Couldn't really test it out cuz of the rain >_<

well, not really today but a while back a friend put a raytel 4200 bluetooth kit in the ashtray.

Lol ummmm... Im not really sure exactly but I got a ticket when it was in my front window "properly" displayed. Im to the point where Im trying to stay very low under the radar, if they think its a law and I get pulled over its enough hassle for me. Especially since Im always wasted!!! (drinks) LMAO ahhh just kidding (naughty)

Today I made an Appointment to get a new fuel cap, and swirl valve! (dance)

my friend gave me a price of $200 installed, but that's "off the truck". The car audio place I use to work at would sell it for about $600 installed. I think it was a bit over-priced, but its one of the best kits we used. Their website is www.tellphone.com

Installed my big intercooler today. It required a bit of fettling to get it to a state where the cosmetics don't embarass me, and I may still work on the cosmetics a bit, but now I'm going for a drive to see how it feels.

Out of curiousity, was there no room for a front mounted intercooler, or would it have been too much of a pain?

I feel that the enlarged top mount is probably a pretty good compromise, easy to put on, easy to take off for visits to the dealer. Should add about 20 hp for a few hundred bucks. Now that I have it set up, it will take 15 minutes to swap it back. I am not looking to wring the ultimate performance out of this car, it is just my daily driver/commuter.

If there was a finished kit for a FMIC I would look at it and decide, but at least for now, I'm happy.

Looks good, Rotus8! A little primitive, but it isn't how it looks that counts. Now you need a functioning hood scoop to enhance it's capabilities.
Have you noticed any improvements with it?

If you can believe it, I haven't driven it yet. Yesterday's chores prevented it and today I need to do some car shuffling. Tommorow's commute will have to be the test drive.

It did require some fettling to make it presentable - the cosmetics were not up to snuff. I still have some work to do before I am satisfied with it.

Yeah, but the cosmetics aren't what gets the job done. I wouldn't worry about that too much until it's sorted out, or time allows. If it makes power..... Zoom-Zoom!!

I've seen you use that word ("fettling") twice now, but am not familiar w/it. What does it mean?
Could you mean fiddling??

Sorry, it's from the British car folks. I means fine tuning things to make them work correctly.

The thing was pretty ugly as received. The divider plate was hacked out of a sheet of alu and looks like it was shaped on a band saw with only a minimum attempt to clean up the rough edges. The plate is attached to the cooler with hardware store slotted screws and nuts. The side plates of the cooler are kinda beat up. There was minimal attempt at cleanup after the core was braised together. The plate has significant gaps around the cooler which will allow some of my precious cooling air to go around the core.

The "fettling" - I installed threaded inserts and stainless button head screws for the plate mounting. I polished up the divider plate and cleaned up the rough edges. I cleaned up the cooler plates with some scotch brite. I have ordered some silicone weather stripping to bridge the gap between the plate and the cooler.
