What have you done to your MS3 today?

Picked up my new Cosmic Blue MS3 last night. This morning I Installed shifter bushings, all-weather mats with modified drivers's side to avoid trapping the loud pedal, leather shift and brake boots, and hood gas shocks. I also installed the "non-smoker" box which looks suspiciously like the ash tray, but with cheesy fuzzy stuff inside. I programmed a third door remote using the ignition on-off-on-off, slam door three times routine. Worked a champ.

Just washed my girl today. :D With temperatures below freezing as of late I took the opportunity of this 'warm' (25 degrees F) to bring out the hose and clean her! I got a few shots so here you go. ^_^

* Don't mind the towel... didn't want to muddy up my newly cleaned floormats. ;)

WOW!!! Now that's what I call getting into the spirit! You better slow down though or you'll run out of things to do and get bored. (lol)
Musta' been all that pent up energy/frustration from the waiting, huh?

Looks good, laraw!! Keep it up!!
I don't envy you washing her in 25* though. Did mine in 50* and windy on Friday. Even took it to a DIY wash, wore rubber gloves and froze. Now I have a sore throat!!! (argh)

Installed the TWM shifter bushings earlier this morning. It's like a brand new car all over again, and I've only had it for a little over a month!

You got it. I would have done more, but it is pi**ing down rain so anything more with a door open is not happening right now.

I guess it is time to work on the taxes. (nervous)

Today I installed a Mazda auto-dim, compass, homelink rear view mirror. I found the instructions a bit lacking, and there is a mistake in the wiring description. There is a TSB on it, but it also doesn't apply to the MS3. Anyway, I figured out how to make it work so now from the car I can operate the garage door and turn the garage and driveway lights on and off. The compass is redundant with the nav, but that's the way it comes.

I hard-wired my Valentine V1 radar detector into the wiring harness and put a tiny pushbutton on the steering column to operate the mute button.

I put in Silverstar high-beams.

I installed my Area 51 access permit in the front right corner of the windshield.

This afternoon I installed the rear transmission mount. Also installed rear bumper step plates and removed the Mazdaspeed3 logo off the tailgate.

In between, I rescued a Porsche driver who got a flat and discovered he didn't have the pump to inflate the collapsed donut that comes in his car. I'm glad I didn't get the 360Z - no way to carry even a flat Porsche wheel.

Changed the oil at 1,403 miles->went to Full Synthetic. Put a red Zoom zoom sticket on the rear hatch window just below wiper. I think that added 3-4 hp alone!

been so busy at work i didn't get a chance to do this the day it happened but...

washed my car and changed the oil in 0* temps... note to other owners be wary of the napa gold cartridge filter the big O'ring was to big and the ID of the filter was a bit to small... didn't make for a good time with those temps when you start the car and see oil leaking out of the stupid ass canister... i am ordering a conversion kit to go to a normal oil filter this is getting rediculous.

also bought and installed a red top optima battery... my car was hurtin trying to start in the sub zero temps up here... now it cranks over like it was new again... also the battery hold down is to tall to hold the red top so once the weather warms up its on my list of things to redo...

How do you like those. I was interested in possibly just doing the lows.
I haven't driven in the dark yet. I'll let you know when I do.

I have HID lows and the stock highs are really anemic, and yellow colored by comparison. My driveway test says the Silverstars improve the color, we'll see about the drivability.

Well, the Silverstars are night and day better than the stockers, but can't hold a candle to the Mercedes lights. But I still love my MS3 and the Mercedes is still for sale. There are more important things than lights.

only probably with the silverstars I am not digging is their longevity. I am on the third bulb in a year in a half.
