What have you done to your MS3 today?

first change i did i went to synthetic. used mobil1 for a while until that storm went through the texas plant that put the kaibosh on supply. so at that point i went to penzoil platinum and have used it since then

i also fill up with 93 octane.

there was smoke, but it was not as thick and not as lasting as this one. i'd say maybe about 50% of that

i used about half a can and turned the engine off and let sit for 5 minutes. then i started her back up and did some revs and WOT blips

I changed mine to Penzoil Plat at the first change as well and after that change, have been using Castrol Edge ever since. I also use Shell 93 gas.

Tons of smoke through the front vacuum line, not nearly as much when i used the brake booster (first attempt). 20K miles

so which line did you use? the brake booster is going right into the intake plenum. i actually almost thought about pouring some right into the spark plugs but i might do that next time

Hope the stock PCV didn't give you too much trouble.

wasnt too bad, buddy has a lift in his garage so it was easier with the car in the air. i noticed kr dropped, then climbed, then dropped again....weird

typically i get the 0.35-0.7ish kr all the time, then it went away right after the occ install. after a short test drive, i drove about 50 miles, those same instances of .35-.7 became 2.0-3.5 kr, but then went away completely. guess the ecu needs time to figure out whats going on....

got in a fender-bender. this after i did my curb rash just a few weeks ago. oh and yesterday when i went to the car wash they put scratches on my rear bumper. so basically it's not been a good year for me thus far.

funny...i can't remember breaking any mirrors or crossing paths with any black felines.

so depressed i felt like getting drink off a couple drunks. life sux. that is all

I am sorry, man. At least that hasn't degraded the performance of the car! :D

The line i had the most success with is the line directly in front of the engine with the blue clippy thing. Use one hand to pull the clip part away from the line and pull the line (and entire plastic fitting) off the vacuum inlet into the intake manifold.

OCC is working then! Keeping oil out of the intake. I was thinking about installing an OCC but my KR hasn't ever moved from 0.0deg on my DashHawk...

Talked to the guys at the body shop. Apparently as they got into the work the previous shop that repaired that corner didn't do it right so they had to do more than originally thought. Wonder how Chevy knows how to repair a Mazda better than Mazda.

Then the other kids car had rust underneath the panel and paint and they always repair back to new so it costs more than mine with less damage. (braindead FML

I am running the OTS stg1 SF 91 oct map on my new AP. Gawd..what a beast.

I also emptied my OCC today. This is about 1-2 oz after 1000 miles. It smells awful. Yay! thats not in my engine

Man that looks nice dude! What kind of HIDs are those?

In other news, i installed Motul 600 racing brake fluid and Hawk HP + pads - man what a difference. Also put in speed bleeders since this fluid only lasts 6 months.

Thanks! The main headlights are the stock HIDs that come with the GT. The fogs are LEDs, here's better pics of that http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123764064

From what I understand our clutch line fluid shares the same reservoir as the brake fluid. Did it affect the clutch feel as well?

Spent the last three days going back and forth between the stock shifter mechanism, the JBarone shift plate, my Rotus inspired mod, and finally today, the Zspeed shift plate. My conclusions are that the Zspeed plate is pretty much a waste of time and money, it doesn't change the throw enough to make a noticeable difference. My own mod has a little less affect than the JBarone plate and I am still undecided as to which amount of change I like better. One thing is for certain, I do not recommend doing any of these mods without putting in a lighter shift weight. With the factory weight, it feels like the transmission is trying to bounce back out of gear when I shift with any kind of Zoom-Zoom to it. JBarone's kit includes the weight, which is reason enough to purchase his over anyone else's if you aren't in the mood to drill and tap in your engine compartment to do your own mod the way I did.
If you do your own mod, he sells the weight kit for the best price shipped that I found anywhere.

Well at least your engine oil looks clean.

suprisingly yes. It's pretty clean. but its only 1k into the interval over 3months. That stuff smells horrible. I am switching to Shell Rotella 5w40 here shortly. currently using Penzoil Platinum. Good stuff also.

frankly, the smoking really doesn't get that bad on my car, and it doesnt bother me enough to make me switch oils. I'm running PP 5-30 full, and mine really only smokes on a cold start in cold weather.
