What have you done to your Miata today?

Oh. Ma. Gawd.

Wow! So Hawt!!!
I got both my fog covers, drove it to work today. Looking at the forecast I should be able to keep driving it from now on. On Saturday I'm planning to install the tru-boost and maybe the sub.

Nice! I don't think we'll have much more bad weather either but, the pot holes here are big enough to swallow my msm whole!!! It will be another few
weeks before I'm back in action :(

I think getting large tires is just compensating for something(shady)

Andrew, are you planning to cover the inside of the door?

Yep! Lack of grip!

Andrew, are you planning to cover the inside of the door?

Nope. Should I? The door bars from the cage will intrude pretty heavily into the door's air-space. I painted the inside of the door, but I doubt I'm going to do anything else.

What size are those tires? And how much does your car weigh?

last night and this morning I felt some hesitation when I was a little over 5 PSI... from Phen's experience, looks like its time for new plug wires.

I also think it would be a good idea to change the plugs and use 1 step colder, any suggestions?

hmm... stock plug is heat range 5, the one I listed is 6. 949 racing recommends NGK Iridium in 7. Any other NGK 7 plug that is worth considering?

I mean... for the price you told me, they're worth trying. But my experience was that Iridium plugs lasted 5000 miles, rather than 4000 that the coppers lasted me.

As far as any FI car, the stock plugs are always superior to the new iridium plugs. Phen speaks from experience and so do I....nothing like good ol copper plugs

That's the thing, the stock plugs are iridium... so I'm looking for a good range 7 plug to use. The Mazdaspeed ones are $14.10 (got the price wrong before..)

Thanks Mahk, might give those a try. Got a P0301 code on the way home, cylinder 1 misfire, good thing I ordered the wires this morning. they're scheduled for delivery on thursday. Will still try to finish the sub and ebc in the morning, but won't drive it till I change the plugs and wires.

^Holy s*** that's crazy! 1700lbs? Imagine that thing with a some power! Probably would be a complete handful and ruin the car, but damn!

And there's weight to come out of it yet. I want to get it a good bit under 1700 so that when I finish the cage, it comes out to right at 1700 (or preferably below then I can bolt in ballast).

Would more power ruin it on street tires? Definitely. On slicks and a fully set up suspension? lol No. Wouldn't even be that much of a handful. See also LS1 Miata track / autox car on 11" wide 16" slicks:

Finished installing the sub, still need to tweak the headunit some more but I really like the sound. Also installed the tru-boost, reads vacuum but didn't have time to configure it, might get on that tomorrow.
