What have you done to your Miata today?

Damn, I've never even heard of that happening. You're right about being lucky that it didn't get kicked into the clutch assembly though, damn. Glad you've got it back up and running :)

apparently through what i have read its quite common on miata's i know dopplemike had it happen to his as well

Changed the oil/filter and installed my Thompson's oil filter relocation kit.

hey, how'd the thompson install go? i didn't have time to do mine, and while it was in the shop i had them install it

Went okay, the guy I bought the kit from had stainless braided lines so those were a little stiff and hard to get on. One of them is leaking slightly at a joint (at the filter pedestal), I keep tightening it up but looks like I may have to break the joint and put some sealant on the threads. Since I have a 2000 I didn't even have to drill a hole for the pedestal, it just bolted right in!

Oh, and my left arm is pretty scraped up. No broken skin but a lot of redness/soreness from reaching between the engine and the side frame to put the adapter and hoses onto where the filter normally lives.

thats cool...mine was a breeze...i had the shop do it where they're fixing my blown out exhaust gasket...looks good and mine bolted right up too

I pulled out the exhaust manifold, gasket, and old bolts/studs while I replace my turbo with a smaller one. A new exhaust gasket, studs, and nuts with nord lock washers have been installed so far today. Currently working on making the down-pipe line up with my new turbo exhaust housing.

Took the hose joint apart tonight and applied some silicone, hoping that will take care of the slight leak I had from the filter location kit.

took it to hyperfest. Turns out West Va seals their roads with oil, so drifted all the way home in the rain hardcore and not on purpose until the MD state line. Every turn, hard, easy etc, the car just rotated on, no matter the speed. It was like driving on a slip and slide

Had some photos taken today with the MX5 and the Bavaria. I'm interested in seeing how they came out.

yay something hit my hood on the way to work this morning and took a strip of paint off about 2inchs long down to the primer

Well def. can't do a new SE...damn things are just North of 30K and not practical as a second car with two kids. Now a nice NA that runs but needs some minor work would make for a great third car to the stable. :)

Believe me Chief, I've been making the presentation for some time now. She's not crazy about it and the fact that I don't have the disposable cash to buy a thrid car at this point in time isn't helping my cause. lol One day I hope to have one!

And anyone know how to figure out the production numbers for them? Looked at the VIN but not sure wherein the number would lie....guess she could call Mazda?
it took me 30+ yrs! hope you don't have to wait that long jeff!! :)

???
I hate scratches! On this car, they end up on the windshield frame more than the hood ;)
ya, and with a black car show up more too!

i had so many plans this summer for my car...got a few things done and then had some set backs, but hey, there's always next summer!

Love 'em!

I know how it goes with the setbacks and all. Oh yeah, and this will likely be my last black car ever. Not that I wouldn't get another dark blue one or something...
