What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

installed my MSCAI myself, was pretty damn easy. and it was my first intake install.
just took a bit of time figuring out where everything was! haha...

So i warshed my car the other day, realized that keeping the tape on the whole trip was a mistake.
4 days of tape left a bit of residue. took a lot of buffing to get it off. wasnt horrible, but enough to show when clean.

anyway, this weekends trip to norcal was a BLAST, big norcal club event, did the touristy thing all over the bay with my cuzin.

so fun. good to be home tho.

I've done the MSCAI and the Cobb SRI, they're both easy. Hardest part is pulling the lower airbox on a stock car. IIRC, they tell you to pull the neg. terminal on the battery.

About the only thing I did car-related was ship out my H&R springs, CS rear bar, and MS oil cap today. Didn't get around to the interior yet, maybe Sat. if I'm feeling up to it.

Ziano products came in last night. Washed the car this morning. The soap did a flawless job. I left the car parked in the garage today and broke out the dodge stealth. Figured i'd let Ms. April take a break for a day. :) Getting up in the moring to put on the glass cleaner to get rid of all the water spots and acid rain deposits. Then putting their sealer on the car. Hopefuly this will protect it for 9 months like they say. Then I got the detailer spray and interior cleaner from them as well as tire shine. Gotta keep the 6 on its toes.

the only reason im going thru the dealer is they said a mazda certified tech has to install it or it will void my warranty. also once its done i just turn the car off. disconnect the Neg. terminal on the battery then re connect it and im good to go?? just take it easy on the car for awhile??

this is correct, cause if you bring the car in next time without papers proving it was tech installed it will indeed void the warrantee. lame right? just another way for them to get more money outta you.

My warrantee ended only a couple months after i got my car so i started modded as soon as i got the thing lol.

you need to reset your ECU. to do that you need to keep the battery neg terminal disconnected for about 5-10 minutes. Then yes, take it easy on the driving for a couple hundred miles at least so the ECU can learn new trims.

Thanks Batou, and if anyone has any other things i should know please tell me. btw i am getting a hydro shield.. Injen i believe.

Amillman your other option is to just get your own intake and install it. Remove it for the dealer visits if need be. It really only takes 45 min your first time. Comes with detailed instructions for the newb like me. Now I can take out whole intake and replace with stocker in about 25 minutes. You can also get an SRI which will eliminate the threat of hydrolock.

But yeah I have a hydroshield on my CAI and it works like a charm.

although i live in Calif, im ubber paranoid when it comes to mah car...

i use Hydro shield AND a heat shield that is angled between the fender vents and the filter.
Buahahah, ultra protected! TWSS. :)

noice! ok so i took a sweeper interchange SUPER slow last night.
still rubbed rear fender the whole way, getting em rolled on Saturday!! excited for that.

Last night was a massive 1 yr anniversary for a local club meet.
we hit over 100 cars. epic. bout 70+ mazdas, and the rest were subbys, evos, hondas, scions, VWs, acuras, lexuss, bimmers, etc etc. FUN!

lol even if there were awards.. id be like 3rd from our group. almost everyones car is as clean/modded as mine.

Car wash was excellent. Best I have ever used to be honest. Sealant was easy to apply. Just a nice even coat. its like putting on a light coat of oil. Though it did take longer to dry than I though it turned out great. Took about 4 hours to cure enough for me to drive it. Tried the detailer in one spot on the car after and it looks awesome. Getting up in the morning and I am gonna do the whole car in the detailer before I go to work. Car is looking slick. I got a lot of head turns today on the way to work. I don't usually get that many.

I tried the window cleaner for the water spots. It worked great on a spot on the back window. The side windows and front windshield are very stubborn and takes lots of elbow grease and about 4 attempts. I am gonna have to tape around all of the edges of the glass and buff the glass a few times over with a buffer. I wish I could find a spherical buffer pad I could lock onto a drill and go to town. I am having a hard time finding what I am looking for though. If I can get all the water etching off my windows I will throw a nice coat of sealant on to keep it from happening again.

Used the interior vinyl cleaner. This stuff works great as well. Gives the car a brand new smell as well. Overall I think all of these products are fantastic and worth the money.
