What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

As far as detailing goes, I think the materials you use are not as crucial as the techniques you employ. As long as you take your time and do everything right (and thoroughly), you should be okay.

As far as lubrication while claying, I've always used a small stream of water from the ol' hose and it works just fine.

It's a bit of both Jay. You can get away with poor techniques if you use the right product, but you can also use good techniques with lesser product. You just have to know how to react to given conditions on your paint. I encourage anyone who wants to learn to go to Autopia and read their pro detailing B&A section, and you'll see how to do things. Go watch Mike Philips on youtube and see how he does basic paint correction, and learn the two bucket method. You'll be amazed how much you can protect yourself by doing simple things differently.

Thanks steve. Definitely will do. Been curious about this for awhile!

I did that, did some casual detailing on the side, and finally spent the cash on the DA polisher, pads, and polishing product and expanded my lineup. Best move I made. Cost me about $400, but I've made it back already in detailing on the weekends.

this is the only pic i have from cleaning the interior out.. i really was concentrating on getting it super clean and didnt have time to take a bunch of pics.. final result pics coming tomorrow for sure..

Meguire's Gold Class is great for Dark cars, the Meg Tech stuff does a good job but not as good as the Gold class. You can tell with just the car wash soap with how thick the suds are!

Mother Clay Bar works well if you want to take the time to clay bar, the turtle wax liquid clay doesn't work that well , but can do the job if your paint isn't that beat up. So if you are looking to take the time Mothers works well. I parked my car in the line of fire of some reclaimed water down in Florida Sanford Airport and was pissed when I found water stains on my car and Mothers did a good job of getting rid of them.

I planned on cleaning my car today. Looks like rain is in the forcast until tuesday. So its a no go.

Ok that helps, because I got some beastly water spots on the car due to the really hard water here in Vegas. So much calcium in the water. -.- Makes it a PITA to wash. Sounds like I got a good long wash/claybar/wax coming up.

i have a new set of rules.. no eating, drinking in the car now, clean your shoes before you get in, no dirty clothing.. just to keep it new looking for a while.. i did the picture in black and white.. looks cooler. ohh and i got my passenger side vent pod on. Boost Gauge for the passengers.. hehe.

Pulled my H&R springs off, swapped back to stock. What a PITA! I forget how much taller the stock springs are, and using the compressor for the fronts, it takes a lot more time to get them back on the strut.

I was going to do the rear sway, but I'm tired, and the weather looks crappy. I need to recover a bit before taking on that huge job.

Well here are a couple of pulls I did today. Last one is both 3rd-4rth. You can clearly see in 4rth gear the boost goes up by 1-2 psi.

Its hard to see the creep because the AP doesn't datalog that many points.

Thanks for any help you guys. This boost creep issue is driving me nuts. All I wan't is a drivable car where I don't have to watch my gauges EVERY time i decide to hit the throttle. Im scared shitless to go WOT in 4rth or 5th.

WTF!? A passenger side gauge pod? lol

Interior looking fresh!

I managed to clean my car and vacuum it. It was supposed to rain today but it didnt. Atleast i got to enjoy the clean ness.

Recently i have been trying to sell my 19" wheels but I am having second thoughts. I am falling back in love with them again. I may end up selling my red/black wheels amd just buying new 19" tires and going back with those. I was mad as hell. I went to wash them since they have been under my house for a year and 1 of them was ate up all to hell on the polished lip. Its almost like acid has sat on the lip of the rim and completely ate the finish off. I hope they still make these rims. Anywho-Any takers on my current rim/tire setup? Tires are brand new and no signs of uneven wear. Rims also dont have a scratch or nick on them.
