What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

emitch-I can post more about this tomorrow. I havent completed the other side since I have robbed 2 autozones around here already for those weather strips. I will have to try one more tomarrow morning to complete the whole car.

I was surprised how well these turned out. The angle on them is perfect for how the sideskirts on our cars slope.

Finally got my gauges working this afternoon.

Don't know how you guys got those side reflectors off with a flathead. I tried prying them off and they take so much pressure to pop off. No way of doing it without bending the paint. Im going to just mask it off and spray paint them with nightshade.

Also I ask too many questions in here but . . . I keep getting the P0441. Read a thread about it but didn't really find answers. Its a purge valve error code. I checked the gas cap and its clean. I never overfill the tank. Do you guys know anything about this before I demod and assume its a valve failure?


And nice gauges qwik. Im getting the same ones as soon as I need an oil change for the spin off conversion. Are those premiums ???

You can pull the lower portions of the inner fenders, reach up, and push them out from the inside too. You'll want to take them out if you're gonna spray them, it might look a little hokey.

Qwik, gauges look good, not sure if I like them not symmetrical though. Clean install though.

What are you using for iPod integration?

It's probably a valve failure...mine failed just after I got the car (same code) and I had it replaced under warranty. Might be a pain to demod, but that's the simplest way to deal with it unless you want to buy the part and install it yourself.

I'll eventually replace the side markers as well, though I think I want to go clear instead of smoked...I think it will fit better with my car (Liquid platinum), and it won't look as obviously modified as the smoked ones will.

Second commute to work in the new (to me) 6, first CEL! Great. P0300 - Random/multiple misfire. It only flashed the CEL at me for a couple of seconds and then went away, but I checked and cleared the code anyway. I guess for now I'm going to wait and see if it happens again. :-(

Broke it loose in 3rd today and got quite sideways before the TCS kicked back in...loved every minute of it. Only on wet pavement too, not snow or ice.

Thats the setup for now. I dont know if I like the gauge pods for the center compartment. I didnt want to do all 3 becuase I need to have atleast one vent in the center or summer time is going to suck. Also with the way these gauges are you wouldn't be able to make out half of the dial if there was to be one on the far right vent unless you angled them.

I dont have ipod integration. I have sirius instead but I do use a fm transmitter sometimes for the ipod but SQ isnt that great and you have to change the channels constantly to get out any radio noises.

Yes. On the vent pod by the a-pillar I will put a electric premium series boost gauge. I did away with the center 60mm autometer gauge. Out of funds for the moment. Will be a while before I get anything else for this car.
