What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Most of those kits are designed to fix the good alignment ruined by lowering the car. Unless you race it and actually know what the settings do, better to leave as close to stock specs as possible.

I know exactly what I'm doing with the alignment... I tend to piss off the alignment techs @ NTB every time I go because most of my cars have way more adjustments available than they do from the factory. The S2k is pretty alignment sensitive too, so it's up on the rack quite a bit figuring out the best settings that make me happy for my suspension setup.

:)

I hope you race it and its not all for the road, the S2k is plenty good from the factory!

I got a test of the TPMS already! Hopefully (nailbyt) its just that the guy messed up the pressure and not a leak. I'd hate to have to deal with that now. On the plus side, it would be a fast leak so I'll be able to figure it out sooner than later. FWIW the sensors read immediately so that was nice, I thought the chime was a system fault but pumping it up made it go out.

Swapped out my MZ3 Tein S-Tech's for some MZ5 H&R springs that I got from Davicho. What a huge difference in ride quality!!!

I liked my S-Tech's for the most part, but it was obvious that they weren't meant to handle the extra weight of the 5. Way psyched to have a car that I don't have to worry about every bump in the road!

I bought a new gadget for my MAZDA5

We know we love driving our MAZDA5s. But now I don't mind being in it while waiting for the kids / wife in the parking.

I still have to 'mcguiver' a mount and connect the audio to the car's sterero (maybe a simple fm transmitter).

Gave our 2010 Sport 5MT an attaboy for it's 2nd anniversary at our place. Acquired new Feb. 10, 2010, 58,000 miles in 2 years. 75+ mile commute each day so it adds up. Great to have as our GSD hauler, weekend home project supplies getter, and daily commuter. 28-29 mpg overall, one warranty issue (broken sender wire for the climate control). JBR quickshift kit, heavy shift knob, and rear swaybar. Tints and Katzkins with heated seats.

Funny, we got our 2009, also new, the same time and we just rolled over 12,000 miles! Also, I ask everyone, how do you like the swaybar? Curious about ride mostly, I know the handling improves, thats the point of it :) Thanks!

@twintrbo: JBR swaybar is great, completely satisfied with it. I used the "middle" of the three settings, and yes, handling is much improved with much less body roll, as you'd imagine. Ride is unaffected most times / normal road use, you do notice it if there's a section of uneven bumps at low speed, you'll get a little head-toss from it working to keep the vehicle level. A big advantage (and a strong reason I chose it) is that it includes grease zerks on the bushings / mounting points, easy to hit it with a grease gun at oil change / tire rotation service and keep the usual Mazda5 rear swaybar squeak at bay.

@BPboiler3: Katzkins are really good stuff, these have been on most of two years, they look factory in every way (with the plus that you can order them in any color combination you desire...I chose this grey/black/yellow to match our BMW motorcycle) and are wearing well (meaning, not worn at all at 2 years, like you'd expect). They even included some extra material to cover the original fabric on the doors.

I'm too cheap for a JBR, I would probably go with a take off MS3 bar. It doesn't have the grease fittings probably, but I'm sure its better than the spaghetti it comes with. I have the OK from the wife as long as it doesn't mess anything up from stock. She feels like this car shouldn't be messed with since I have the other one.

My 3000 GT VR-4 also has Katzkin seats in it. The OEM leather was SHOT so I upgraded and did a 2 tone. Thats was 10 years ago!!! Still looks great, there is some wear on the drivers seat side bolster, but its due to factors other than the quality of the leather. In this pic you can see the before and after on the drivers seat.

Edit: Looking at the pics all these years later, I'm struck by the fact they look so much OEM that you would never think it was aftermarket. Even at enthusiast events, I have to point it out to people. Its timeless and classy but I probably should have thrown some red in there somewhere!

Bought a "no-name" cold-air intake from eBay. I only installed it as a short ram for now because I didn't have time to remove the resonator to fit the lower tube. I don't know if it's just a placebo effect but my MZ5 surely feels a lot peppier and doesn't feel sluggish as it did with the stock set up. I am certainly happy with the result. I will install the lower tube to make it a true cold air soon...hopefully this weekend. Just thought I'd share with you.

Home brewing gold.....

Hauled home 995 lbs of grain for home brewing (only about 250 lbs is for me). In what other vehicle can you haul this much, take a 2 year old with you and still get 25+ mpg? We were right up against the cargo weight limit.... but she still drove like a champ.

Now I just need to get brewing.....

Holy, thats too much loading. You can get in trouble with the society for the prevention of cruelty to Mazda5s. :).

We are getting rid of our other car so both Recaro seats go into the Mz5. Looks good together but the yellow on the convertible seat has faded quite a bit from washing over the years (boom06). Didnt realize until I put the two together.

BTW, looking for a late 80s / early 90s Saab 900 SPG if anyone has a lead (little old lady next door?). Prefer hatch back but vert is ok and minimal rust is a must.
