What have you done to your CX-9 today?

New front struts (FCS) and passenger side LCA (Beck/Arnley) went in over the weekend. Car is back to normal, minus a slight metal scraping sound (just the brake shoe that needs to be adjusted/bent back into place).

Once I get my replacement tires on the wheels, I'll swap the winters off and then get an alignment done. (y)

So a little update for the Z23 kit from Power stop.
Heard a nasty noise from the rear under moderate braking (behind driver).
Took the rear wheel off to check the pads and sure enough the outer side was completely gone and just started to scratched the metal on the pad. The other side pad and the pax side pads had some life left, not much though!

I recall the dealer telling me the cx9 grabs from the rear first, to avoid the car dipping when the brake is applied.
Thing is, these pads lasted 22 months, mostly highway driving. I don't tow or carry weight in the vehicle. I don't drive hard either.

The rotors seem good but I'm surprised the pads wore out so soon as compared to other vehicles I've owned.
Anyways, it was 6pm, everywhere was closed except Cdn tire. Only option was the OE+ ceramic pads for $68 (both rears).

Time will tell how they hold up but had no choice otherwise.

Thoughts on the life of the pads for anyone else using power stop z23?

Strange, I have the Z23 pads and rotors on the rear too. I've had them installed since Sept 2022. Approximately 70/30 city/highway driving, 55k kms on them to date, and as far as I can tell, they aren't wearing especially fast. I check remaining pad life every time I remove the wheels, and I'd estimate that I've got at least 2 more years on the rear pads.

Based on your pics, it seems like the caliper may not be functioning correctly. I'd suggest finding a good local mechanic and asking if you can send them those pics and get their opinion.

I got 5 years out of my pads and rotors and I'm not easy on them. "Towing and mountains"

I would be inclined ti agree with smike about the calipers being a possible point of issue
