I replaced both belts in my wife's car

Added Apple Car Play (and cleaned in process). First time taking it all apart. Found lots of gunk, broken plastic tabs, and missing bolts in the process from previous owner. Time to start hunting for replacements.

Just replaced the OEM battery on my 2019 CX5..... I didn't have to but I did, went with a AGM from Interstate at Costco for $179. Hopefully this will last as long as the OEM (I doubt it).

It's was due. If the car was not used, daily, I had to jump it..... I also noticed that even the fluid level was at low. Battery was at 10.4 volts.

Simple diy job since our car doesn’t come with a glove box light with 4000kevin led.

changed front driver:
- hub
- cv axle
- outer tie rod
- inner tie rod
- cleaned up the knuckle a bit

Inner tie rod was warranty work. Outer tie rod I broke the boot by accident. Hub because of wheel play. Cv axle as I found some teeth damaged. Lost about 1L of ATF … good thing I had some backup bottles…

The wheel still has some play in 9 and 3 when compares to passenger. Trying to figure out what’s doing it and if I can’t … it’s going for a diagnosis as the steering rack diagnosis is beyond me atm. I’m thinking it’s not the rack as I think that there would be play from passenger side as well… and that side is solid. Ugh.

Fumoto oil drain valve -- F106SX valve, ADP-106 adapter and spare gasket (if needed), and a couple spare LC-10 lever clips (to ensure it's in the 'locked' position). Will install at the upcoming oil change.

Yeah, as I've not yet installed it I'm uncertain if it'll be needed. Figure it's better safe to have this inexpensive adapter on-hand in case the shape of the pan requires that extra extension. We'll see.

Done and done. Oil changed, rotated wheels and aired up the tires...retorque after driving tomorrow.
On the fumoto valve...I had one on a past car and while it looks good on youtube, I don't see doing it again. To each their own and good luck with your hands on projects!

It doesn't just look good on YouTube, it made my oil changes and sample collections easier.

It actually slowed down my oil changes for 12 years on a previous car. Like I said, to each their own...

It does drain slower than an open drain hole. But it also gives me the opportunity to stop and collect a sample since I am doing oil analysis. And I can dispense directly into an empty oil jug, so there is no intermediate drain pan to clean, making the whole process faster (for me).

I also don’t like the Fumoto valve. In addition to slower drain, its end sticks into the oil pan too much and prevents more complete oil drain. Ask me how I know? Previous moderator Chris_Top_Her took his oil pan down and saw the case with a Fumoto valve although the Fumoto valve website insists it isn’t the case.

Perhaps other changes were made.

The Fumoto website stated the valve end won’t stick into the oil pan for CX-5 back then for my 2016 CX-5. To me they made the false claim back then. Can’t trust them anymore. You can measure the thread length between the valve and the female thread of the drain plug on the oil pan. Some actually saw the thread part of the Fumoto valve making it shorter so that the oil can be drained more completely.
