I am looking to buy a catback system for my MS6. The question is, what to buy? I have read that Magnaflow's 2.5" system doesn't give anything except better sound. Then, there are the 3" systems, which give a minimal amount of power.
What would be the best? (sound at a minimal plz) :)

Thanks for any input!

it really depends on what you want (single vs dual muffler)

me personally

CPE is the best sounding single muffler
and Corksport is the best sounding dual

All 3in exhausts are going to give you about the same power. if you want a little more power after your exhaust, get a test pipe (aka Race pipe, AKA Catdelete)

Hmm thanks for the info! How much do you gain from just replacing with a 3" system?
How does aftermarket sound on highway? Drone sounds?

gians on 2.5 and 3" are both pretty minimal.
most all 3" systems i've seen are quite loud unless you do some custom work like resonators.

i have the 2.5" magnaflow, i luv the sound, and it aint stupid loud.
drone aint bad at all until i let OFF the gas at high speeds and it naturally slows, you start to get a bit of drone.

I have heard that the sound is good on the magnaflow. There has been one issue which has made me question it though...melting the bumper :(
So anyone have any experiences with that?

i have the ghl 3" and its crazy loud. theres drone at all speeds haha.my house can hear me coming from 2 streets away. im getting a resonated midpipe for it. just my .02

has anyone considered just upgrading the mufflers to magnaflow, and keeping the pipes? Wouldn't that be the same thing?

someone on here did that, i cant remember who. if it comes to me ill post a link

I'm in the same boat as well, I was hoping just to purchase the fitted magnaflow mufflers and possibly get custom piping done around here (local shop does it for a good price). Anyone know where you can get JUST the mufflers?

aye, this is mostly eh people that completely cut the muffler tips off. meanign the exhaust goes striaght up intot eh rear bumper, heat gets trapped, blam, melty melty.

To make it not melt, you need to cut the tips shorter, not completely off. cut them just barely short of the existing stock fake tips. these face tips act as a shield and help continue the flow of exhaust past the bumper out the back. if the tips sit slightly inside the fake tips that is fine also... the full length tips rattles in those stock tips was the problem.

if you getting just mufflers, just do a full custom axle back with magnaflows. the stock Y pipe is a chokepoint anyway.
cheers.
