What exactly is Clunking?

i read about all this clunking noises, but i have no idea what it actually sounds like. is it a thudding type noise? a scratchy metal noise? or has anyone actually recorded this clunk?

oh yeah i have this metallic metal clapping noise...only occurs when I hit rough patches. any ideas?

The "clunk" as others dubbed it is pretty much your rear sway bay shakeing around in shot sway bar bushings. Mine are so far shot that I can literally move the rear sway bar up and down bout 1/4 of an inch! Every time I hit bumps going down the road it sounds like my rear end is about to fall out or apart on me. lol
